Yup! She ended up sincerely apologizing and later bullied a store manager into accepting my transfer request (that store manager was also eventually grateful to have been forced to do it)

A district manager at Starbucks when I was 20
I would have accepted The Devil Wears More Prada
In 2012 I went to Warsaw for the Euros. Obviously it’s much smaller than the World Cup is, especially now, but the difference in how the local experience is unfolding for these events is jarring. Like first of all, my ticket to a group stage game featuring the host country was ~70 dollars.
Bounce back game for Nathan Lukes
The Florence show has maybe set a new “wow everyone I know was there” record for me
Just absolutely crazy shit from Steph, Dray, and Horford
Exactly! You can bring in your own food, which is huge. I’m sitting in the bleachers right now surrounded by people who got here early and packed a bunch of snacks and probably bought the outfield district tickets like I did
I know some people got beefs with the renovations at the dome but imo they’ve done an incredible job balancing three important things: 1) gouging rich people, 2) appealing to people who dgaf about baseball, and 3) making it possible for a dedicated fan to have a pretty affordable and good experience
11ish was my thinking. The difference between bobbleheads and anything else is intense in my experience. If tomorrow was a bobblehead day I’d expect people to be lining up at 8 or 9. That Buck bobblehead later this season will have substantial lines by 6am I bet.
SkyDome hive mind: I know people get to the gates crazy early on bobblehead days, but how early do you reckon I would need to get there for a t-shirt giveaway? The wife has made getting the Barger t-shirt this Saturday a 40th birthday priority and I don’t want to let her down!

Here's a song about Daulton Varsho that I wrote. I offer it to the baseball gods as tribute to improve the vibes.
I fear this will be in my head every time Daulton Varsho catches baseballs for all time
Believing that Canada Post should
make money should be disqualifying for holding public office
It’s incredibly important to me that a dude older than I am is still throwing six innings of one run ball
Wore the right jersey coming in
The kind of lopsided trade that could prompt one to ask questions about whether a league where every team is owned by the same people is entirely above board
Sounds like whoever is in the No Comma Club is labouring under the misapprehension that correct grammar means pleasing grammar, like we haven’t all tied ourselves in knots to avoid saying ‘that that’ in something we’re writing.
The only thing that gives me pause is that you only have 2 groups and I’m wondering if that still counts as a list, but the semicolon would def be used with something like ‘we were deciding between chicken, potato, and coleslaw; steak, asparagus, and salad; or pasta, garlic bread, and beans.
This is one of the grammatical uses of a semicolon, it can serve as a sort of super comma when you have a list of things that themselves contain commas.
My hot take is that the timing of the WBC is fine and pitch limits are fine and putting it in the middle of the season just means your baseball team has a chance of being Kevin Fiala-ed closer to the postseason.
I got a new phone and for some reason it doesn’t get push notifications from the Score anymore. It’s a great feature!
HELL YEAH
The curling has certainly lived up to the hype
I complained too much about the 5am gold medal match for women’s curling and hexed Rachel Homan, I’m afraid.
I watched that game at Aris Place on Roncesvalles, 10/10 experience
I don’t feel the same. I certainly think the game’s gotten more physical, for sure, but I don’t think there’s a major difference between her game & other people who play on the edge, like MPP, Roque, Fast, Miller. But Seattle is Vancouver’s expansion rival so I might feel differently in your shoes!
Disappointed as I was, my reaction was “at least it was Hilary Knight.” If there’s a reason to dislike her besides being an American who is good at hockey, I don’t know it yet.
Deciding a medal game with 3-on-3 offends me. If you have to do it up until this point, sure. But award medals based on 5-on-5 hockey.
