I was inspired by the caravans drawn by Sergio Aragones in his Groo comics. He always draws weird reptilian beasts of burden.

That figure was how I first found out about the game too. I have a whole trade caravan of various beasts now.

This is very interesting.
Unique, beautifully sculpted figures, novel rules, deep background and games with a low figure count.

Xyston Miniatures have included some sample 15mm javelins with my recent order.
Not sure if they’re cast or printed but they’re rather nice, and I dare say a lot easier to work with than wire spears. Their hoplite shields are the same.
All very nice with no printing striations or casting flash.

If historicals are too much for them, encourage them to try some of the cheaper fantasy options. I haven’t looked at KoW or Erehwon for a while, but they’ll scratch a similar itch I’d have thought.
Midgard would be a nice gateway too, allowing them to slowly convert to historical gaming.
