I don't think he's apologizing for what he did, he just now realizes that he did it for the wrong person. He would willingly make the same "mistakes" for the next person he thinks would implement his particular flavor of fascism.

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors
Reduces heat island, shades cars

The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight.

Why aren't we doing this?

Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.

The truly depressing part about all of this is that it wasn't only entirely predictable, but was accurately predicted.

Trump lacks the skill, patience, and quite frankly the time needed to reach any substantive agreement with Iran.

He is drowning in a trap of his own making.

I will happily watch him (metaphorically) drown.

Hey Siri - Which political party in the USA harbored Nazi collaborators during World War 2?

So, not the Democratic party then...

The Onion plans to turn Infowars into a comedy site with satirical echoes of the fringe conspiracy theories that Mr. Jones is known for. Tim Heidecker, one of the comedians behind “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, has been hired to serve as “creative director of Infowars.” He said he initially plans to parody Mr. Jones’s “whole modus operandi.”

Mr. Heidecker has been working on his impression of Mr. Jones. But eventually, when that joke gets old, Mr. Heidecker said that he hoped to turn Infowars into a destination for independent and experimental comedy.

“I just thought it would be just a beautiful joke if we could take this pretty toxic, negative, destructive force of Infowars and rebrand it as this beautiful place for our creativity,” Mr. Heidecker said in an interview. During a recent trip to Philadelphia, he traveled to the Liberty Bell to film a video in character as the new creative director of Infowars.

Lawmakers again consider giving convicts more time to prove their innocence • New Hampshire Bulletin New Hampshire state law allows convicts three years to request a new trial. After that, they lose the right. That’s true even if new evidence contradicting their guilt emerges. However, New Hampshire…

I'm old enough to remember when politicians used to tell us how capitalism creates competition that drives down prices and improves choice.

Some politicians still tell us this.

<sigh>

Politely disagree. There are bad Democrats, but the Democratic party is far more open to change than the Republican party.

To be fair, healthcare will be a lot cheaper when there are no doctors. It's doesn't cost taxpayers much to just let people die.

In today's episode of "The problem with telling people not to take everything the president of the United States says seriously is that eventually no-one will take anything he says seriously"

Dear "corporate Democrats are as bad as Republicans" voters:

That's what primaries are for.

There are a lot of good Democrats running on anti-oligarch platforms who don't take corporate campaign contributions. If you don't have options in your state, then consider running yourself.

That was back in the transition period from regular order to "do what he says"

I'm pretty sure that all the people who used to do stuff like that have been fired by now.

It doesn't make me any more comfortable to know that military leaders chose to run their own operation rather than refuse to carry out orders. That sounds a bit like a military coup.

Note to self:

Tried unconstrained capitalism.

It didn't work for everyone.

Time to try something different.
