I guess this is their position on Iran: “You can engage the world without "dismantling the empire."

It's telling that they celebrate the Humphrey of 1948 but don't mention 68. What is the "Pragmatic Liberal" position on the war with Iran? What about immigration and ICE?

Pauli Murray

Pauli Murray

On this day in 1964, Pauli Murray circulated a memo arguing that black and white women would “share a common fate of discrimination” unless Title 7 of the 1964 Civil Rights Act prohibited sex discrimination in employment as well as race discrimination. The memo helped keep the “sex amendment” in T7.

It's even worse if you get up for an early train, and then its late!

Empire Builder does take bikes. You pay extra and can only load/onload at staffed stations (St. Paul, LaCrosse, Milwaukee, Chicago - maybe others). But its very easy (if the train is on time!).

Trump officials unveil designs for president’s controversial 250-foot arch Military veterans have sued to halt the project, saying it would alter key views of Arlington National Cemetery.

He should hire Michael Moore to market this: “I’d like it to be the biggest one of all,” Trump told reporters in January. “We’re the biggest, most powerful nation.”

If I stopped to photograph every car blocking a bike path I'd never get anywhere, but I'll keep this in mind!

I guess this explains why Trump is so loyal to Russia, given their sacrifices during WWII.

Michelin Guide is finally coming to Minneapolis — but not St. Paul The city will pay $250,000 a year to be a part of the restaurant rating guide for the “American Great Lakes” region, ending years of speculation.

On top of overlooking the better of the Twin Cities, who can trust a guide that puts Pittsburgh and Indianapolis on the Great Lakes?

WE DID IT!

Our illegal union @uam-umd.bsky.social is a lot less illegal today. 12,000 contingent faculty in MD just won the right to collectively bargain. Life-changing win for teachers and students. Only happened bc thousands of people worked together to beat our bosses in the statehouse.

In my experience, the most frequent door holders are Metro police-watching riders or just waiting for other officers to board. It's annoying and undermines messaging against door holding. On the other hand, I have to admit that I appreciate people who hold the door when I'm running to catch a train.

"The attorney general’s mention of consultants touches on a long-simmering controversy in which doctors at the U have complained privately that Cunningham has relied on expensive advice from hired advisers rather than physicians who have worked at the U for years."

Definitely 29. For my Milwaukee based in-laws, “up North” means Door County. From the Twin Cities we take 29 directly east to get “up North”
