On Monday, John Hammond Jr. would have turned 138 years old, but it’s likely our Museum’s founder would have preferred you not congratulating him.
He believed birthdays weren’t particularly meaningful milestones. To him, the true measure of a life was what had been accomplished by the end of it.

The Articles of Incorporation for the Hammond Castle Museum were formally presented to the City of Gloucester, MA. This pivotal moment marked the official establishment of the Museum, founded by inventor and innovator John Hays Hammond Jr.
