May well be! But these are applied (rubbed-on) between 1905 and 1916, methinks.
This is a curious point of contact, suggesting that they might have been in the same setting soon after production"
Any thoughts?
Since the visor is down, it is not possible to verify whether this is also meant to be an anthropomorphic frog, but they share the medieval military imagery and the emphasised red-feathered head garment.
In Konat 1.239, in a gap left empty on the top of second column on fol. 6r, there is a transfer-sticker representing a mounted knight in full armour holding a jousting lance.
Strange paragraphs to write:
"In JRL Syr. 10, in the left margin of fol. 304r, aligned to the top of the column, there is a transfer-sticker representing an anthropomorphic green frog dressed as a medieval soldier with breastplate, sword, and chainmail head protection, topped by a feathered hat. 1/
In a bit.

A wonderful project showing how a manuscript is not just a document with some information, dumped somewhere in a museum or a library. It is part of the living ecosystem of a community.
