Regardless of whether this is a price increase or decrease, I don't think that this is a matter of Nintendo becoming more or less greedy, it's a matter of them thinking these prices are more optimal to them (either through making more money per game or selling more games overall for cheaper)

That would count as raising taxes, yes (although honestly the tendency to only cut taxes and never raise them isn't a good one, and that applies to more tax brackets than just the wealthiest, a functioning state can't be funded on just taxing the wealthiest)
IIRC getting lashes was also a thing in older territory wrestling (I've seen a couple of matches where the loser receiving 10 lashes was a stipulation) so it probably was also a callback to that stuff
Yeah, I do think technology has definitely changed it a lot. The 70s and the 20s have both been capitalist, but the change in technology and (in part due to that) the wrestling fanbase have led to a lot of changes between those decades.
And I'm not sure if either of those factors change to a large extent solely if capitalism is not in the equation. Maybe in a post-scarcity society, but any promotion is going to need to get enough resources to run itself somehow.
In a sense it's not necessarily even a pure capitalism thing. To create art on such a scale, you need a lot of resources from whatever entities control said resources, and you're going to reach a lot of people who may have tastes that are a lot more basic, for lack of a better word.
The Paramount deal did go through between Trey Miguel and Rousey. I doubt that was the reason why but I guess it's possible
