I am heart broken that the world continues to get smaller for intersex and trans* people, purely because transgender people have been politicised. Being intersex myself, I feel the world shrinking around me, and feel like I don't belong in society. The hate against us weighs on me enormously today.
Following the US, the UK Supreme Court have ruled that "sex is binary" - flying in the face of all medical FACT. Sex is absolutely not a binary, and a large enough percentage of the world's population are born intersex. Stating that there is only male and female is anti-science and disgusting.
VRT doet zelfs niet de moeite om te vermelden dat het verwijderen van het geslachtskenmerk op de identiteitskaart niets uithaalt, omdat het gecodeerd zit in het rijksregisternummer. Iedereen kan dus snel even kijken naar het nummer en alsnog zien of het kenmerk mannelijk of vrouwelijk zou zijn. 😡
Opnieuw negeert VRT intersekse personen volledig. De erkenning van iets anders dan man of vrouw is voor sommige intersekse personen heel belangrijk, omdat het een biologisch feit vertegenwoordigt. De gevolgen voor discriminatie zijn hier enorm, en de uitspraken van Liesbet Stevens zijn lachwekkend.
Het voelt voor mij een beetje wereldvreemd aan, want bedrijven zoals Meta en de retoriek van hun eigenaars zijn een groot deel van het probleem.
Ik kan hen er niet eens over contacteren, want elk contact met Groen verloopt via Instagram, Facebook of Messenger/Whatsapp. Ik steun Groen en dit initiatief graag, maar wie bij zijn volle verstand gebruikt tegenwoordig nog iets van Meta? ...
