AGAINST ALL ODDS, THOSE WHO BELIEVED BLUESKY THAT THE CRASH WAS DUE TO A DDOS

if fans have their own ideas about how things should go, great
that’s what AO3 is for
If you follow me, you know how much I respect Dennie. If she and @sifill.bsky.social are saying this is a good one, it's a good one.
Gonna watch it in a bit while eating dinner, but I'm salivating more for the video than the food.
This is what constitutes politics for the rest of our lives. Scams nested on scams nested on top of half trillion dollar corporations running services that serve as fronts for more scams and the trans national fascists of the entire planet.
The thing about hell is that there is a kind of relief in knowing why you are there. There is no such relief here.
I was once catching up with a few people whose careers I respect to get some thoughts about what to do next and one of them said
"You know, your next thing doesn't have to be bigger than your last thing."
And it remains one of the most creatively freeing things I've ever heard.
I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.

It's starting to rain and the temperature is plummeting. :D I'm going to go cook food for tonight while I still have power.
Sitting out on my patio enjoying the spring storms rolling in like I'm ready for my ruby slippers.
Am I a good witch or a bad witch?
Eh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hadn’t been clothes shopping for a dog’s age, so bit the bullet.
ME: This is kinda cute…
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Hand wash, lay flat to dry in shade, do not leave in direct sunlight, do not dry clean.
ME: This is not a shirt, it’s a mogwai.
“You gotta learn AI or get left behind!” is a bit galling given that the entire purpose of AI seems to be to steal our work and fuck our brains and shit up the planet, which is to say, its GOAL is to leave us all behind. That, in order to make its owners rich.
WHY does this look like a maternity shoot
Sen. Mike Crapo blocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren's last-ditch attempt to preserve the IRS's free Direct File program.
In the last election cycle, Crapo was the top GOP congressional recipient of campaign contributions from the corporate PAC of TurboTax's parent company.
If the hardcore band’s guitarist looks like this you’re about to die in that pit
@utopia-defer.red doing this on an election year and while your party is inflationmaxxing truly shows the hubris of these fucking worms
Here's the article which includes the actual interview in question. Yes, he absolutely said this and yes, it's in context.

You can give me just one of those millions, I promise my viewpoint would bring some diversity to Harvard
Maybe this makes me a communist, but I think they should have to file these reports before the election, not after.
Trying to explain St Augustine to the pope, the former head of the Augustinian order, who wrote his doctoral thesis on Augustine, on his way back from celebrating mass at the Basilica of St Augustine in Annaba, Algeria, overlooking the site where Augustine lived is peak Adult Catholic Convert.
Feel like most of the people commenting on this are missing the fact that teen pregnancies historically were often teen mothers and adult fathers, who were immediately married.
They're not *just* sad about the babies; they're sad that they've lost a pipeline for "traditional" marriages.
So the big studios are abandoning the US and turning the staff workers into contractors to get out paying for healthcare.
The United States is losing one of its defining industries because of not having universal healthcare and the people are going to be even more vulnerable to the industry.
A budget is a moral document.
Writing fat characters who are easy to love but *impossible* to desire is not the favor to fat people that many writers seem to think.
(It is, in fact, precisely what Shallow Hal set out to do.)
A reminder that as Americans we pay double per capita for healthcare than every developed nation on Earth, AND have the lowest life expectancy. We're getting robbed & bled literally to death by the exploitative for profit system we have.
We demand universal healthcare as a human right. Period.

Personal bugbear but I wish people would stop calling them “hallucinations”. It’s propaganda to humanise AI and suggest it has sentience.
These are errors we wouldn’t accept in any other tech product. Imagine saying your SatNav “hallucinated” a road through someone’s house.

Rewatching Real Genius (1985) tonight and I have to say it ages pretty well.
I’ve been noticing how much 80s nostalgia overlooks how much of the media had themes of anti-war/anti-military industrial complex, especially toward the end of the decade.
This movie isn’t even subtle about it.
