If Dems retake either house, they must launch an investigation into this. There's no easier way to highlight the corruption of this era and to establish that Dems are committed to fighting it.
Pretty sure @wyden.senate.gov and Maxine Waters would be the chairs to do it.
I’d appreciate one of the Reubens, please.
"A community is democratic only when the humblest and weakest person can enjoy the highest civil, economic, and social rights that the biggest and most powerful possess."

Thank you.
That was awesome. Thank you for sharing!
Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:
This echoes what the Puritans claimed during the Pequot War of 1636-7. G-d willed the massacre of the Pequot people. I teach this to my college students.
This looks wonderful! I look forward to reading it.
My students are using a piece you wrote about Anthony Burns for class tomorrow. I’ll have to add this article to my lesson that uses fugitive slave advertisements.

Simon & Garfunkel’s Sounds of Silence in grade school (can’t remember what grade). I sobbed. And became an enormous fan.
Two versions of the Pillsbury doughboy: On the left, the well-known version, beneath which is written “He is risen!” On the right, a version rendered in matzah, with the white baker’s hat and kerchief in blue rather than white, beneath which is written “He has not!!”
Happy Easter and Happy Passover!

The Bondi firing will get all the attention but what Hegseth is doing with the upper echelons of the military is much more dangerous over time than Bondi’s tenure as AG.
And it won’t get 1% of the coverage.
Someday it will get a lot of coverage, and those will be dark days.

Dicey there for a bit. Then utterly dominant.
It would've been reckless and inexcusable to cause generational damage by illegally defunding USAID, NIH, HHS, Dept of Edu, and so on just to reduce the deficit...
... but spending and the deficit are both higher than '22, '23, '24. It was all just harm for harm's sake. The cruelty was the point.
There wasn’t a single Democratic elected official who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s death. Not one. Donald Trump is openly celebrating Robert Mueller’s death and no Republicans are condemning him. Both sides are not the same.
We are seeing the Iran war become a quagmire in real time.
Asking U.S. taxpayers to spend $50 billion on a war Trump claims we have already won was outrageous enough.
Quadrupling that within a week shows a total lack of understanding or control over what he has gotten us into.
Not one more dime.
This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Phew!
No brainer.
Are you saying that this isn’t surprising?
Michigan has become the first men’s basketball team since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers to finish the Big Ten season undefeated in road games.
Came here to ask precisely that.
On brand.
