This is hitting all the spots and scratching all the itches in my brain so perfectly. I have other songs that do the same with their chorus or bridge or sometimes just in a 4 second span but there's only a very few where the whole song is giving my brain a deep massage.

I had the opportunity to confront Pete Hegseth's bigoted spiritual mentor, Pastor Doug Wilson, and call him out on his history of hate, his misreading of the Bible, his hijacking of Jesus, and his cosplay Crusading.

It was worth it.

When I turned 21, I worried about being able to have a stable life in the US esp. after all my parents had gone thru to get me here. My kid turned 21 today & he's worried about being able to have a stable life in the US esp. after all I'd gone thru to be here. #sameasiteverwas #generationaltrauma

Look at me buying tickets for a concert 6 months away, my mind so overtaken by stress and worry that it's shut down all logical thinking and is instead embracing delusional optimism.

Oh yes, it was definitely a labor of love in that I was so happy doing it!

Omg hi! And thank you! These are my son's books/shelves (well, the ones in his bedroom; he and I also share a large one and two smaller ones in the living room for our classics/ergodic/oulipian lit.
If you scroll back you can see my personal shelves in my bedroom and one of the ones in my office!

@davscomur.bsky.social I feel you only know how exhausting redoing shelves really is when you're picky like us!

(He's not into cover art the way I am so finding books with covers that meshed well together and for the "group" on the shelf was took time. In fact, most of the "display" books are ones I specifically chose for him because of the cover even though he already had my old ones.)

There 403 books there. That's not counting the "magazine" short stories on the bottom.

Part of my bday gift to J is putting his books in order on the 10 bookcases he has in his bedroom. (Yes. 10.). Which means pulling off books at least off the first row of each shelf on each case to see what's on each shelf (most shelves are double stacked. This took 3 solid hours. 2 down, 8 to go.๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Basically I'm in my "I want my pants touching my skin as little as possible and feeling like a favorite many times washed t-shirt when they do" era.
(L. calls my favorite pants street sweepers: "Oh, off to clean to roads?". That's okay; I mock his joggers:" Oh, off to run a marathon are we?")

Prior to this purchase, my last I'm-never-wearing-any-other-jeans again were a pair of super soft, faded blue wide-legged jeans I bought for 10 pounds at the Primark in Torque when my sister and I were there for the Agatha Christie Festival last year. Like wearing pajamas. #primark

Trivial good thing of the day: I bought a pair of "high rise utility supersoft jeans" (cut is like a wider legged barrel jean) in "vanilla pudding" (a lovely pastel-y yellow) on clearance ($19.50) from Gap Outlet on a whim; I may never wear a differenf pair of pants ever again. #gap #gapjeans

Protecting myself from mental & emotional collapse by indulging in my fave comfort measures: watching my GOAT series #Leverage all over again; fixating on finding the best cover art editions of a book (currenrty The Beautiful & Damned); & playing a new song on repeat:

Just saw Data at the Lucille Lortelle. It was very good and very targeted towards current events.
The lead,Karan Brae, played the Indian friend in the original Diary Of A Wimpy Kid movie and, well, I'm old. Also he was fantastic.

I found two Tom Adams cover art Christies I've been trying to replace (mine had broken spines tho' the cover was fine) in great condition plus one I've been trying to find forever(it has a marked spine & bent back cover but it's so hard to find in the wild and the front cover with the art is fine.)

The bookseller most impressed w/ our haul from their store (they all were, but this one was the most vocal) was the co-owner of Bodies In The Bookstore in Cambridge. Which yes, is an all "Crimes" (i.e. Mystery for US folk) bookstore w/ both new & secondhand books. J was, of course, in his element.

I'll say this, we scored multiple free canvas bags (the good kinds, like Daunt's big thick ones for example) from every single place. Our loyalty cards at all the places who had them also racked up a tidy amount to spend next time (just like the did last trip for this one!) #bookcollector #booklover

Baggage handler at EWR who helped pull our suticases from behind the others lumped in front lf them:" What do you have in here, bricks?!!"
J and me together:" No, just books."
(I won't tell you how many we bought [new &secondhand] cos it's a ridiculous amount even for us.
