Current pledges & policies to reduce emissions mean the world is heading towards warming levels of 2.9°C by around 2100.

With countries required to submit updated pledges by February 2025, there is no time to lose.

To achieve the Paris Agreement climate goals, total fossil fuel demand needs to fall substantially, but without a definition of what is meant by 'abatement' (use of CCS), these goals may be compromised.
