Totally fair! Space is definitely a problem when it comes to a slingbed. Besides the bambus, I do occasionally see people recommend the Centauri Carbon from Elegoo, which is a core xy. It was one I considered when I wanted a printer. Elegoo has it for $285 atm.

I would probably recommend the Bambu Labs A1 Mini, especially if the budget is no more than $300. It's currently $219 on Bambu's website. I have the A1 (non-mini) and it was super easy to set up as an absolute beginner. I just tell it to print and it prints.
