They really do. Love this 💚

Same - it’s the extras you find inside that are just as beguiling. Tiny fragments of a previous owner’s life, that were lost, forgotten - until you open it up. I once found a beautiful invitation card with gold edging and script to a royal occasion. Seemed magical and set the imagination running!

Donald Trump’s very act of making such apocalyptic threats, including his warning of ending ‘a whole civilization’, reveals a staggering level of cruelty and disregard for human life. https://bit.ly/4vfrEfd

I didn’t say I disagreed with his position. I simply said we need more at this point - as we do from all leaders. A major shit storm is coming - this requires action as much as words and grandstanding.

I’m with you on this. A lot of grandstanding and hot air is the last thing we need. Let’s just hope that backroom activity and diplomacy is the best it can be and effective.

I’m not shutting down criticism, I’m clearly saying we’re going to need more than criticism - we’re going to need solutions - and be part of the solution - and fast! This approach can only take us so far in these unprecedented times. I’m not disagreeing with his position. But we need more!

Like… We cannot go ahead and have the World Cup now like nothing is going on. Regardless of what does or doesn’t happen tonight. Countries should simply refuse to send teams. The rest of the world cannot treat us as a remotely normal country after this

“You people”? Who are they then? We’re about to enter the eye of a very big storm and this line of attack just feels utterly futile and naive at this point. I don’t want the UK to enable the US’s illegal war any more than the next person, but we’re not dealing with sane leaders now.

What happens to Britain's radical right if Orbán loses? Inside the money, power and patronage connecting Hungary and the British right

"Matthew Goodwin has been paid a salary of up to €10,000 a month [from Hungary's state-funded MCC], according to leaked documents obtained by Hungarian investigative journalists Direkt36 and reported by the Good Law Project"

For the Green Party? Keep articulating a realistic vision of Britain’s future and place in the world with ideas and practical steps about how to get there. That’s why we have leaders - to do exactly this.

Agree. I’m sick to the back teeth of it all. Transformative leadership this is not.

He doesn’t stand in PMQs or the Commons. Besides which, isn’t that missing the point? These are not normal times, as stated.

By all means, critique, but I want the leaders I believe in to do and offer a bit more now. We kid ourselves if we think that is a solution to the storm that’s coming. The horse bolted a long, long time ago.

Of course, but sometimes it’s nice to hear leaders share some more in-depth analysis, solutions or practical actions too 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was going to say the same thing. Disagreeing reasonably is where I’m at :)

No, but that’s not the point I’m making.

We all hold that hammer. I can’t help thinking it’s not the right nail or even the right project at this point.

From world police to world pirates. Will it be plunder or blunder?

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

It’s as important to hold to account and higher standards those leaders you support and trust as it is those you do not. In fact, more so. This is what we’ve forgotten, and this is how we have each partially failed democracy.
