Those of us using VA healthcare, especially for service connected PTSD or any other mental illness will be the first people they subject to this. They probably already realize the VA's health records are an easily accessible resource for identifying people for a campaign of this nature. 2/3

This really is dangerous language. It's sending a really terrible message about trans people in general.
Why do many disabled people urge you to wear a mask? Because we know how the system works. Viruses can disable you and once you become disabled, doctors won't listen to you, you'll have to fight to receive any assistance, and you'll get denied over and over again. We want you to mask to spare that.
Dear neighbor, I get that we live on the gulf coast and our stores were not adequately stocked with faucet covers, but I think using a minion for this purpose might be against their union contract.

Cultural shift strategy: the right floats an idea designed to stoke outrage ex "ASL interpreters are distracting and using up valuable resources meant for you, our base". Influencers perpetuate the IDEA, it gets media attention, the base buys in. Legislators can pass laws against marginalized people without fear of repercussions framing it as a mandate from their voters or a way to take the resources back to those who "deserve" them
Also want to say a bit about why things like removing accessibility page, ASL, and screen reading capabilities from the White House website matter. It feels performative, and it is. It's a coordinated effort to shift cultural norms.
