Thank you for tagging April!
Dr. Bailey's research has made a tremendous imprint on psychological science. ISCON recognizes Dr. Bailey's outstanding accomplishments and her exciting career trajectory with this award.
Dr. Bailey's work changes how we think about gender categorization and related intergroup processes, with broad implications for understanding impression formation, social power, & organizational equity. Her research has appeared in widely read journals, including PSPR, PNAS, JESP, & JEP:G.
The selection committee felt that the combination of cognitive and social psychology in Dr. Bailey's work constitutes quintessential social cognition while simultaneously highlighting methodological sophistication.
Dr. Bailey's research integrates social cognitive theory with computational linguistics to shed light on biases that impact various social groups, with a particular focus on gender and its intersection with other identities.
The International Social Cognition Network (ISCON) is pleased to announce Dr. April Bailey as the 2025 winner of the Early Career Award! Dr. Bailey is a Lecturer of Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. She earned her B.A. from Colgate University and her PhD in 2019 from Yale University.
