I’ll be honest, I spend a not insignificant amount of time wondering why I choose to be an honourable human when I see those who grift benefit so greatly from such behaviour.

Smith says that she wants to redraw the maps to ensure that rural gets the representation it deserves because rural constituencies are complex & too big.

This compares the majority report & the minority report.

It's the cities that get carved up, rural barely moves.

Interesting statement from a politician literally gerrymandering the electoral map to ensure she can’t earn her way out of the Premier’s Office.

UCP move reveals potential for a Smith-friendly electoral map Danielle Smith has said she will appoint a UCP-led committee to redraw election boundaries. The move could lead to partisan gerrymandering — and a proposal by two UCP MLAs provides a roadmap for a par...

“If the govt were looking to... gerrymander districts... this new, hastily designed process undercuts [public consultation] and puts the decisions in the hands of partisan appointees in a way that we have not seen in Canada since the 1940s.”

“Bill 11… allows physicians to treat patients in the public health care system while also charging them fees, creating a two-tiered system for those who can pay and those who cannot.”

Over 50 organizations have written to Ottawa to urge enforcement of the Canada Health Act.

Smith on why she's introducing private health care to Alberta...

She's clear the biggest reason is because she want's to remove "Gatekeepers" (so physicians) from medical testing.

What could go wrong?

Alberta to scrap new electoral map, launch expedited redraw with more MLAs A government motion calls for a redrawn map from the one presented three weeks ago; the number of MLAs would rise to 91.

The UCP govt is rejecting the electoral map proposed 3 weeks ago.

A govt motion that could come as soon as this morning outlines the new process which will be overseen by a UCP-led committee, will not allow for public input, and grow the number of MLAs from 87 to 91

Episode 7.17 - Calling Out CoRE! YouTube video by The Breakdown AB

Special episode!

On March 10th, CoRE published a paper that the UCP then used to justify shuttering Supervised Consumption Sites.

But there's some big problems with that paper & how it was spun.

We sat down with 3 experts to get to the bottom of it!

Bill C-9 - How do we balance fighting hate with protecting civil liberties?
Bill C-9 - How do we balance fighting hate with protecting civil liberties? YouTube video by Senator Paula Simons

I rose today to confront Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act. How do we push back against the rising tide of hate, without sacrificing civil liberties? I have no easy answers. But in this speech, I wrestle with the questions. It's not a comfortable listen. It's not meant to be. #cdnpoli #Alberta #C9

A good reminder, any “deal” with the US right now is barely worth the paper it’s written on.

Those advocating for appeasement to secure a “deal” are fooling themselves.

Oh, for the love of sex! The climax of Bill S-209 YouTube video by Senator Paula Simons

Why yes. I did give a speech in the Senate about the joy of sex. A speech about sex and libraries, and the dangers of trying to censor what our teens can read and watch and do online. In a world full of digital risk, we need to teach our kids media literacy, and sexual literacy too. #cdnpoli #ableg

However, my math is bad. I took 4800 and divided by 70 (size of my tank) which gave me 63 tanks of gas. I then multiplied 52 by 5 (days a week) and divided that by 4 (days of gas) and got 65.

Point being, it’s higher in rural and the break was aimed at us (I think).

When I was working in Calgary, I figure I would have used more just myself. I needed to fill up every four days. I live in conservative voting territory.

This was nothing more than a bone for conservatives who might have been extra unhappy that Liberals won all three by-elections.

Orthopedic surgeons are paid in a bundle of services for pre-op, operative and post op services. They then had other MDs doing the pre and post op work who were billing AHS + having a healthy 50% stipend. Taxpayers were paying 3x for the same work.
Then add the private b.s.
WTF is going on here?

Albertans were hesitant to go to ERs and hope to be admitted before this. Sounds like things in our hospitals are getting even worse. 😞 #NeverUCP
