I think the lumpy bits are exactly what makes it worth reading. Like a Navajo rug which has an intentional imperfection in the weave. The Mona Lisa with her uneven smile. Beauty is in the human imperfections.

Infographic showing risks vs benefits of giving measles/MMR vaccine
Today, I was asked by a grandparent about benefits vs risks of vaccines, so she can talk to her kids & grandkids
I shared this superb infographic @peterhotezmdphd.bsky.social, published @plosglobalpublichealth.org
We need such infographics for all vaccines!!

In a new study, the HPV vaccine resulted in a 46% reduction in HPV-related cancers in vaccinated males. Including head and neck, esophageal, anal, and penile cancers. Vaccinate your boys and girls against HPV.

See you in Vancouver! #MedPhys
We got a successful cancer vaccine! I’m glad my kid was able to get both doses already.
I bet they loved the fresh ocean air streaming in!
Sometimes it is the narrator. Some work for me, some not so much. Also try playing around with speed. Sometimes x1.2 faster helps, sometimes slower. Also a few audiobook providers have used AI voices. I can’t stand them. Have fun playing around with options!

Do libraries where you live have ebooks? Mine do, and it is my primary source. Each checkout supports the library and the authors.
I was looking out my window at the moon last night and thought of the four humans out there.
Earth and Moon from DSCOVR NASA's Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured this unique view of the Moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth last month. This view shows the fully illuminated “dark side” of the moon that is never visible from Earth. Ian Regan processed this version of the image to account for the Moon's motion. NASA / NOAA / Ian Regan
I hadn't seen this before. This is pretty remarkable.

#Artemis II update: our European Service Module's main engine performed the translunar injection so precisely that flight controllers in Houston decided to cancel the first of three outbound trajectory correction burns on the way to the Moon 🥳

Any chance your local library has a copy? Mine has ebooks through Libby.
I’m staying at a ranch. The dining room has a massive library. So many good finds!
Lebenserfahrung. (The act of gaining a different perspective that comes with living a life. Direct translation is life experience, but there is more nuance to it than simply that.)
I’ve been testing some LLMs by asking a question in a field with deep expertise. So far, most are plagiarism machines which cannot sort out misinformation and myth. Has potential, not ready for mainstream yet. Best used to replace very entry level admin assistant tasks.
Guten Appetit!
Gut gesagt.

I’m sorry there wasn’t better news. May the wait time shorter than expected, the neurosurgeon very skilled, and the outcome good.
It is so tragic. We are cluttering up the night sky for future generations.
