The UCP's efforts to scrap the independent Electoral Boundaries Commission's final report is the most anti-democratic action ever taken by an Alberta government.

Must listen: “One stretcher. More than 80 patients waiting. Paramedics arriving with patients while admitted patients await transfer. That was the reality for registered nurse Jayme Hack during a recent shift at Edmonton’s Royal Alexandra Hospital.“

⛽ At 13 cents per litre, the provincial gas tax costs the average family more than $300 a year.

✂ Cutting the provincial gas tax is one of the fastest and most direct ways the government can ease the cost-of-living pressures on Albertans.

📣 We're calling on them to get it done.

At the same time, First Nations are raising serious concerns and have taken legal action over the potential impacts.

That should matter to all of us.

We can grow our economy responsibly and be part of the AI future, with proper consultation and respect for the people and resources that sustain us.

I’ve been hearing from a lot of folks here in Sherwood Park about data centres, especially concerns about water.

The proposed Wonder Valley project would use 24 million cubic metres of water every year, and it’s moving ahead without a full environmental assessment.

Nenshi wants to avoid Brexit mistakes in fight against Alberta separatists Alberta politics is going to get a lot noisier and more confusing during the months ahead

Premier Danielle Smith and her Cabinet Ministers have gone out of their way numerous times to amend the Citizen Initiative Act to clear the way for a referendum on Alberta separation. The UCP are determined to hold a referendum, one way or another.

Stephen Lewis was an incredible Canadian.
He was the embodiment of selfless public service that crossed partisan lines. As a global advocate to fight HIV and AIDS, and as Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations, he always put people first.
He will be missed but his legacy of service lives on. RIP

The UCP voting down Bill 206 (Accessible Alberta Act) shows that this government is unable to support any practical proposals from the Official Opposition based solely on partisanship. The bill was straightforward: remove barriers for folks with disabilities, who make up one in FOUR Albertans.

Disappointing to see millions of dollars in cuts to cancer screening, prevention, and research in Budget 2026.
This govt just tabled a $9.4B deficit. Where'd the money go? Not to cancer surgeries, screening, or research. Never before has a govt spent so much for Albertans to get so little.

Braid: First Nations fury over separatism sends leaders to Buckingham Palace The visit of First Nations chiefs to King Charles III show how fearful they are of Alberta's separatist climate, writes columnist Don Braid.

It feels like this could have an impact on Alberta’s MOU with Ottawa if the government does not come out and denounce separatism.

Stop Separatism Alberta separatism is being transformed from a grassroots fringe movement into a foreign funded political threat.

Separatism is a serious threat to our economy, our province, and our country. It doesn’t create jobs or attract investment. It does not make us safer, healthier and happier. Separatists are now working with members of the U.S. government, even as it slides towards fascism. It is time to fight back.
