It's also worth noting that we picked the theme because Paper Jam itself turned 18 years old (now 19), old enough to drink in pubs and JOIN ITSELF.
I don't think we've got anyone in who was born after it started yet, but it will happen. Horrifying how long I've been clarting around with comics.
Our post-covid-lockdown era comics have been: Sea (melancholy), Mythology (rude), Great Jam Parade (silly), and with Growing Up we are back round to melancholy again.
I think those are our three main emotions and our next anthology is likely to be rude.
Anyway, buy this, it's good.
We had a lovely launch, everyone drawing bicycles & badgers (because I correctly assert they are HARD TO DRAW & everyone's always trying to ANTAGONISE ME WITH CREATIVITY), thx all who came.
You can now buy GROWING UP ...AND THAT from Newcastle Travelling Man & online at paperjamcomics.bigcartel.com
First page of my Riso comic featuring the original design for Crimson
2nd page featuring the OG design of Leanne and more of Crimson, this was also still back in the "figuring it out" phase so the Mechs where mechanical and communicated via a little SD head with the pilot The last group are a bunch of raiders up to mischief
The old design for the Lightning character from Crimson Castle (can't remember her name off the top of my head, I still need to give her a redesign along with the others in her group) This is also still that point where the Mech characters were more actual Mechs compared to Cyborgs
Pam or she was referred to at the time, PIAM (Prototype Independent Airborne Mech) again awaiting redesign and her character is very different from what I originally envisioned with her I think she was also one of the first characters to have the Zone of Ender's influenced feet design too I do love the orange and yellow colouring on this one
My Yee olden Riso prints from College
Which I recently was trying to sell at the Paper Jam launch this past Saturday (for ยฃ15)

Here's a high art jam comic from 2016 when we were at an event in York. Every panel ICONIC.
About to nuke the Paper Jam twitter account. Some nice stuff in there, like that time a couple of years back where we were trading actual comics for pictures of cats or batman:
Open meetings every month for 8 years. No profit, very little skills progression and we all get on each others' tits in a good way.
Join us in Tilleys, Newcastle, on the 2nd Thurs of the month at 6.30pm.
Offer still available in incredible new year sale.
Also we've got a new comic, keep an eye out for launch details soon.
Today! Find our fine wares* at the Star & Shadow market! Until 3ish! Loads of other good stuff.
