The title section of the image contains the Nintendo Switch 2 logo and the question: "Lower cost in Japan?". The rest of the image goes into detail about the supposed lower cost of the console in Japan. In USA, the console is 450 US Dollars. This is equivalent to 66,000 Japanese yen. In Japan, a Japanese only version of the console is being sold for 49,980 Japanese yen. This is about 341 US Dollars, or more than a 100 US Dollar discount. However when you compare the average salaries of USA and Japanese workers, it is actually more expensive for the average Japanese worker even with this lower cost factored in. USA full time workers are spending 1.6 work days of their wages on a new console. Japanese full time workers are spending 1.9 work days of their wages on a new console. If the gamers in Japan had to pay an equivalent price to the USA, it would be at least 2.5 work days of their wages, making it even more out of reach for the average consumer in Nintendo's home country.
