Not that Tulsi Gabbard isn’t utterly incompetent and a huge national security risk, but she would be the 4th high-level woman in the administration to be thrown out while even more incompetent male appointees appear to be untouchable.

genuinely disgusting the expansion fees are that high and owners are quibbling over a $1m player salary cap raise

The same people telling you women's sports is special & the values at its core must be protected are simultaneously partnering with as many owners from the most corrupt, controversy-ridden league we've got.

You wanna know how women's sports loses its progressive, inclusive magic? Follow the money.

Bad actors will say they are “protecting women’s sports” by attacking trans folks while giving a pass (and even praising) predatory men who do the most harm to women.

You want to protect women’s sports? Stop giving problematic men a foot in the door and face time.

We don't know which Cabinet secretary will be forced to resign next, but we know it'll be either Brooke Rollins or Linda McMahon because they're the last two women left.

we’ve reached a point where democratic hopefuls think they can prove they have national appeal by publicly criticizing a wing of the party that exists only in the minds of on right-wing podcasters…

Yes, the fact that I'm attending the White House Correspondents Dinner might SEEM like a supine gesture of complete deference to the insane dullard who demands total obedience from the press, BUT that's until you see the secret message I have on my pocket square

This is why I feel a lot of transphobia/homophobia/etc. is founded in people being uncomfortable in the rigid norms they force upon themselves. Somewhere deep inside they're unhappy but feel compelled to uphold the norms, and so they lash out at people who are happy while defying them

You see versions of this dynamic in so many places. When you learn comfort with other people living their lives, it becomes easier to feel comfortable living yours. Knowing and loving a lot of trans people has definitely made me more confident in my own gender identity.

Screenshotted excerpt from linked article reading as follows:

"In public, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. has cultivated a reputation for care and caution. The papers reveal a different side of him. At a critical moment for the country and the court, the papers show, he acted as a bulldozer in pushing to stop Mr. Obama’s plan to address the global climate crisis.

When colleagues warned the chief justice that he was proposing an unprecedented move, he was dismissive. “I recognize that the posture of this stay request is not typical,” he wrote. But he argued that the Obama plan, which aimed to regulate coal-fired plants, was “the most expensive regulation ever imposed on the power sector,” and too big, costly and consequential for the court not to act immediately."

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

We shouldn't be asking WNBA players whether they're dating .......... we should be asking them why they aren't dating Caitlin Clark, after all she has done for women's sports

People who suddenly feel like their transphobic “jokes” and “fairness in sports” takes are a bad look while the government forcibly detransitions people don’t get to say “oh that’s not what I meant!” You did mean it! People told you what it meant and you did it anyways!
