If a SkS/SpS breakpoint does less DMG but offers so much more comfort and lines up with a fight better to the point where a worse player can do better damage than with the set that does better DMG, that's a good thing, and the closest thing to "build variety" you can actually achieve

The reality of the situation is that build variety in an MMO doesn't exist
There will always be best in slot setups, and by opting not to go for the bis gearsets you are considered to be actively griefing the other players.

This is why SkS/SpS should be focused on more, because it's tangible

Unfortunately they will never kill one of the worst parts of gearing, pentamelding, because an MMO economy REQUIRES currency sinks like materia

The only gearing fixes XIV needs is giving more sources of alternate gear and making different SkS/SpS builds more viable by having more options
