Ash Parrish

Breaks my heart to share this, but today is my last day at The Verge and I am looking for work! I'd really like to stay in video games, preferably in some kind of journalistic capacity but I can do PR/Marketing and maybe even a lil Narrative Design. Please get in touch!

Hayes, I am so sorry. Anything I can do, you let me know!

Inverse's Gaming section is being shut down as the company "divests" from gaming content. I'm out of a job along with my wonderful co-writers. I've put my heart and soul into this job for four years. Gonna need to take time to process, but I'm now completely open for work - and boy do I need it.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Chris. I'm glad I got to witness even a fragment of your awesome RS tenure, and whatever comes next, I'm in your corner.

I am so proud of FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, SNK, and my PR team at TriplePoint.

Also, lowkey Street Fighter cast should've presented the Best Fighting Game!

[Exclusive] The White House Responds To Its Use of Halo Imagery: 'Yet Another War Ended Under President Trump's Watch' | Alyssa Mercante - Video Games, Internet Culture & More Get more from Alyssa Mercante - Video Games, Internet Culture & More on Patreon

I reached out to The White House and asked about its use of AI-generated Halo imagery. White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai just responded to me, and it's insane.

I've removed the paywall. Please share and subscribe if you can.

I feel this in my veins (literally). Nothing makes me dizzier than a nurse searching around with a needle IN MY ARM

Drowning prevention program comes to a halt at the CDC A few years in, a CDC drowning prevention program was ready to share its findings on how to mitigate the leading cause of death among young children. Then the administration terminated that staff.

Oh my god, Matt, I am so sorry. That is a mind-boggling decision I know Ziff Davis will come to regret.

Now I just need someone to make a functional moveset like that in a fighting game. Maybe a rekka projectile??

I didn't realize this until my second watch of Superman: James Gunn sure loves projectiles you can control remotely. And I think he may be onto something, considering Mister Terrific and Yondu are my fav characters in Superman and GotG, respectively.

The article was taken down "due to concerns about the controversial subject matter" - luckily, it was archived and can be read here!

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Thank you for exposing the truth, Kelsey. Gamers need to know!

Also, if my character gets the meat or dairy based Dash Foods, am I no longer vegan? The dietary restriction options are pretty sparse...

Like I said, let "libs" organize how they want — they got millions of people out on the streets yesterday.

But a record-breaking protest is not a victory. It does NOTHING unless there is a plan to harness that energy for something more than donations to the same political class who got us here.

Has anybody else figured this out yet? If you stop in front of an NPC's car in Mario Kart World, you can make a traffic jam of up to 40 cars in a line before the NPCs abandon their stopping behavior and push forward through you.

It took about 15 mins for them to pile up.

Publishers do not pay games journalists for favorable coverage

Blows my mind that just a year after the brutally violent crackdowns on campus protests at Columbia and dozens of other universities, there are people out here today trying to say that protests must be done in the "correct way" to avoid being demonized by the press

No, Geoff Keighley—Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was not made by a team of 'under 30 developers,' and devs say repeating the myth is 'a dangerous path' SGF's fascination with small staff sizes discredits the integral work of external contractors and contributors.

I'm glad folks are finally waking up that this ridiculous rhetoric is dangerous and I applaud the folks with visibility pushing back on it.

Be honest.

If we keep repeating it, the fat cats at the top will expect it and it leads to workers abuse and overscoping.
