This right here 👇🏽 is why Sen. Hoffman and I have been working on an energy rebate for all of Alaska's public schools and an increase to money dedicated for student transportation.

BSA $$ are meant to support teachers in the classroom not pay skyrocket fuel costs.

Bookshop.org: Buy books online. Support local bookstores. A better way to buy books online. Every purchase financially supports local independent bookstores.

If I cannot find a copy at Title Wave, I usually hit up Bookshop.org which supports small independent bookstores.

I have been recommending this book with alacrity the past few weeks.

First to DNR Acting Commissioner John Crowther, then to the UAF environmental and climate science students, and finally - to the DEC Acting Commissioner Randy Bates.

IMO: it is a must read.

Huzzah - my bill to require data centers built in Alaska to bear the total construction cost, develop end-of-life e-waste recycling plans, and generate their own back-up power has received a zero fiscal note.

SB 250 will be heard Tuesday in Senate Community & Regional Affairs.

Our brains are hardwired toward the familiar and mis, dis, and mal information benefit from something called mere exposure effect:

Our brains substitute truth for repetition.

The more wrong information is shared - the more likely we are to believe it. (4/4)

Propaganda is using selective information to promote a specific political view or cause.

Propaganda often includes dis and mal information, but not always. (3/4)

Mis information happens when someone inadvertently or unintentionally shares wrong information.

Dis information is sharing wrong information with the intent to mislead or misconstrued.

Mal information is sharing wrong information with the intent to harm.

What the heck is the difference between mis, dis, and mal information and how they differ from and are a part of propaganda. (1/4)

Came up to UAF to learn more about the Alaska Native Languages Center.

I was also invited to give a keynote at the UAF Empowering and Elevating Women luncheon.

After my words, a language student and Elder gifted me a nickname.

Today gives me the hope.

Transgender women athletes banned from Olympics in new policy on female eligibility The International Olympic Committee agreed to a new eligibility policy that aligns with President Trump’s executive order on women’s sports ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

Exclusion and sanctioned hate doesn't make anything fair - it just punches down.

And I call bullshit on your "studies" IOC.

So we keep at it.

I think of this quote when I'm tired.

"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent." MLK Jr.

And it takes your voice, presence, and advocacy.

There were 2 appointees, one to the state board of education and one to the board of regents I stopped from being appointed.

I did it with you all. Getting 59 other people to move in a direction is challenging and I can only do it with your help.

Well of course yes.

...however, the "then what" scares me. With 9 months left, who worse will/could be appointed?

I think you meant to say "modernist" or perhaps "minimalist" or maybe even "chic".

While I'm hard at work building good education policy for Alaska, allow me to take a brief moment to reflect at how well this outfit came together.

In 2024, the estimate was we needed at an increase of least $1,808 in base student funding to achieve the purchasing power we had in FY11.

We overrode the Governor's veto of education funding 2x to get $700.

Today, our students and schools need at least another $1,108+ and they deserve it. (10)
