It pains Rascal that a rabbit is stealing all the thunder for bringing eggs. #Easter

*course -- sorry, typo!
Having taught an undergrad fourse on this topic, and coming at it from that angle, wholly agree.
Hey, I'm from the DMV area too! :)
As a birthright citizen and a civil rights lawyer-in-training (law student), this level of animus from seats of power doesn't intimidate me--it's what gets me out of bed in the morning and makes me work harder. #scotus #birthrightcitizen
This quip from Chief Justice John Roberts and some brow furrowing he did in response to another one of the government's arguments exemplifies the majority of the justices' response to President Donald Trump's attempt to limit birthright citizenship today. #SCOTUS
"Make America Great Again!"
"You mean go back to a time when nobody questioned birthright citizenship?"
Personal encounter with the health benefits of spring: my day included a law student (seeing me outside reading Metropolitan Life) getting Fran Lebowitz confused with Fran Drescher, laughing hysterically at him, then trying to make him feel smart again while I continued to laugh hysterically at him.
For non-law folks, a Note is a student article. It sounds like it could fit on a Post-It, but in reality it's 30-60 pages.
Turned in my law Note a couple of days ago and am now in that phase of discovering a new genre of writing where it feels like realizing you can run for the first time, and wanting to do it at full speed all the time purely out of the joy of that epiphany. #writing
Dude at a café the other day asked me "Are you Hindu?" and I low-key regret not asking him "Are you Lutheran?" Remind me to rewire my instincts when I have a sec and start inferring a whole identity from the color of someone's epidermis.
Me inching from literary to legal journalism . . .
I have a new piece out in the @bostonglobe.com -- you've heard of whodunits, but have you ever read a "howcatchem"? They're the stories we need in the Trump era of fake news and government disinformation.

Thanks, David! 🙂 Yeah, it ultimately made me double down on doing what I love, no matter what anyone else thought. And no way!! :D Omg that actually makes my day!
And, far more relevant to your post, I can't wait to read this article! :)
Shout-out to English department folks at @harvard.edu: THIS is how graduate mentorship is done. Take notes. #earlymodern #academia
By the by, I'm SO glad to see a genuinely supportive English PhD advisor. I had advisors refuse to read/advise my article drafts and tell me repeatedly that early modern women weren't worthy of study--the profession would be better off if there were more faculty like you. Keep pushing the needle! 💞
V jealous, she's a hoot. Someone needs to get her and David Sedaris on the same stage.
Adding to reading list!
You need an OST. Lucy in the Sky With Muppets.
True in 2025 and will continue to be true in 2026: The establishment is not unbeatable. They only go unchallenged.
The administrative warrant issue--this is a huge problem and something I'm studying right now
Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."
Astonishing thing for a judge to do.
Lol I was once invited to contribute to a journal because they admired my work on the Renaissance: they wanted a piece on the Harlem Renaissance.
"Whaddya mean, 'more work'?"
Patriotic if you want the pangram!
I need to get on this bandwagon.
I spent most of 2024 evacuating critically ill and injured Gazan children to the US for emergency medical care. Many of my kids died before I could get them out and they're buried in Gaza.
The ground there is a graveyard of innocent children wantonly killed. Nothing "glittering" about it. #gaza
