Pine City is a nice place to hang out. An easy hike, lots of shade. Very pleasant.

In the park or in town?
How did you manage that with the meters?
No thank you! :)
I'm giving a presentation on the early history of ham radio repeaters.
SPOILER:
Meeting tomorrow (Saturday) of the Morongo Basin Amateur Radio Club, 2pm. Visitors welcome. Join us at the Yucca Mesa Community Center. #YuccaValley #Landers #29Palms #JoshuaTree #MorongoValley #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

Also like most switchers, mine puts out a lot of RF hash. Can be mitigated somewhat with the right ferrites.
I have a similar looking charger which is rated 10 amps. The skinny 12 volt red/white wires are undersized and get warm while charging (=voltage drop). If it were me, I'd put the PP connector on close to the charger and use fatter wire for the rest, less voltage drop. Would require new clamps. YMMV.
Of course, no problem with powerpoles on that.
Lots! Search feeds for "amateur radio".
Furious that my steering wheel does not have a PTT button.
You got the exposure just right on those tower shots. Came out beautiful.
FYI there are several ham radio feeds on bluesky. Search feeds for 'ham radio'.
Sorry I don't know what study time might work out to. 409 questions in the tech question pool, YMMV. A good resource is hamstudy.org
Be sure to use "study mode" (best) or "read questions". "Practice test" is not good for study as you'll only see a fraction of the question pool.
Yep. When something bad happens, we sue everybody in sight regardless who's to blame. It's a habit to be avoided.
FYI FWIW I had severe problems with rain coming in the sunroof on my old car (Isuzu Amigo). Took me quite a while, too long, to figure it out. I'd assumed because I'd cranked it tight it wouldn't leak. I was wrong. "Tight on the cable" didn't mean tightly sealed. Derp. Something to keep an eye on.
Someday I too will visit The Holy Land.
I've sometimes joked "Why not a 'Walmart parking lots on the air' program" ...now a reality! I brings tears to one's eyes.
Now I'm off to search roadmaps for local "parkways" where I can pull over to the curb and make some quick POTA contacts.
[2/2] Per wiki-p the larvae often occur in moist soil and; coincidence? The sewer project has been working my neighborhood for many weeks. Water trucks spray the (currently) dirt streets muddy 5 days a week.
[1/2] If the internet is to be believed, the masses of bugs I've been seeing around my neighborhood in Yucca Valley are crane flies. #YuccaValley

From clearsky.app, the "Top 5 Blocked" list. attie.ai is at #2, surpassed only by JD Vance.
Take a hint
READ THE ROOM
can we make this the new #1 most blocked account pls
Just found a really useful firefox extension. Forces youtube "shorts" crap to play in a normal youtube window, with all controls like FF and rewind. What a relief!
Now if it only had a way to force the videos to be landscape instead of sucky keyhole.

The answer to your question is no - at least so far as the Farsi numbers station is concerned.

Nuthin' heard at 02:00 UTC either. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I was using this web SDR roma4.ddns.net
I don't *know* that I was hearing the jamming. I was hearing a carrier around 1.5 ish kHz up and some other noises. It might have been something other than the jammer entirely.
Also I don't know how long the broadcasts last, exactly. Could be over by now.
I can't hear a thing here in the Mojave desert, but Iโm picking up what is probably the Iranian jammer using a web SDR in Italy on 7910kHz. Something is underneath it, might be the numbers.
Will try again at 02:00 UTC.

Accepted that the sewer project must happen & accepted that driveways are going to get blocked. But how about a damn heads up? And by that I mean a little more advanced than the 7am doorbell. Is a note the preceding day too much to ask?
