Posting this on the Finchley synagogue (very near us)

Important to share, I think.

I stumbled across Finchley Reform during lockdown. I am also not Jewish but found the wise and humane sermons of the Rabbis (big mention for Rabbi Miriam) a real help. I have never been but I had the impression of an inclusive and welcoming community. Shocked that anyone would want to attack them.

Is Ukraine winning the drone race? Barely six months ago it appeared that Russia was ahead in the drone race.

New post from @ldfreedman.bsky.social

"Is Ukraine winning the drone war?"

The Russians certainly think so.

What are the implications of Ukraine's innovations for the war and, more broadly, for how other countries should be thinking about drones?

Divine providence may, all being well, bring about the downfall of Hegseth and Trump. What crazy times we live in.

Oh sh*t! The last time I saw him was at the Moorlands many years ago when he was manager of visiting Bury Town, He had a go at me after overhearing a comment I made. I just said "Tony, I'm a Baggie. I love you!" He broke into a beaming smile and that is how I will remember him. RIP

It's the way the small details of life are so different that fascinates me. This is a world where most people still didn't have mobile phones, Milly uses a pay phone to call Egg during the court lunch break eg, Warren writes a cheque to pay his therapist. So similar yet so different

I know. I have just about got used to the idea that the 80s are 4 decades ago but that the 90s are 30 years ago (and that 3 Lions is as long ago as 1966 was then) is freaking me out! I will be there for This Life

Not dull is it? The last time England played in Paris I was watching in a bar in Angers. Everyone was very nice to la petite Anglaise though, one or two even bought me drinks! Vive l'Entente Cordiale! And we have another try!

One of my neighbours posted in our street WhatsApp group asking us all to sign the petition calling for a ban. I replied by posting a link to your blog post and my neighbour is now giving me the cold shoulder. But, as you say, all entirely predictable. I had to do the right thing.

So if every £10 note has a picture of itself how many notes will be depicted? It's like the Bourton on the Water model village and that makes my brain want to explode......

This is so good. I learned the hard way that dommes need aftercare too after an intense and edgy 4 hour scene that left me drained to the point I couldn't play for 3 months. What you say about your own experiences totally resonates.

Astle is the King! Always. As you may know the Jeff Astle Foundation set up by his family does a lot to support stricken ex footballers and their families.

How to get out of the hole? Stopping pissing off all their natural supporters might be a start - beginning with binning the jury trial proposals.

It's a great place isn't it? I presume you had your picture taken in the Ghost Town car? And if you didn't have the Caribbean Breakfast in the cafe you need to go again.

Sects on the Brain A post-Gorton narrative which is dramatic, seductive, and wrong

🚨NEW BLOGPOST🚨

Is British politics becoming riven with sectarianism? Are we the next Lebanon? Does dodgy bloc voting dominate our elections?

Many are saying "yes" after Gorton & Denton. But it doesn't reflect any of the evidence.

As a small child my late Great Uncle Charles told me "and never forget, he was no friend of the working class." So I haven't. I thought Great Uncle Charles was great. He always gave me a glass of cider. And he was right about Churchill.
