Tequila in his heartbeat, his veins burned gasoline.
It kept his motor runnin' but it never kept him clean.
They say he loved adventure, Ricky's the wild one.
He married trouble, had a courtship with a gun!

Biggest truism about Hollywood that I stress. - make friends to make friends. Don't be a mercenary. Don't network for its own sake. People smell that shit a mile away. If you work together with friends, that's awesome!. But that's not the forefront of ANY relationship. Be genuine, real, and cool.
Exactly!
We now live in a world in which a large three-topping pizza from a halfway decent place costs 32 BUCKS.
And that is all kinds of wrong, people!
Also, if you have something bigger, don't hesitate to ask. The goal is to keep getting bigger with every project, and it's also to work with other people who know and love the genre!
Scott, I will read anything you have. I’m a fan of yours going way back. Focusing on lower budget ( a mil or below) contained horror. One or two locations max (for now). Feel free to DM me for sending deets!
Oh nothing… I just optioned a script today, which will be the second movie my new production company makes. A Christmas horror comedy in the vein of THE MENU, READY OR NOT and BETTER WATCH OUT. One of the best (and most bonkers, bloody and funny) scripts I’ve read in YEARS. Can’t wait to make it!
Staff: Tell them the Jesus picture was doctored.
Trump: I'm a Doctor!
Staff: Tell them it's a small military incursion.
Trump: It's a great military excursion!
Staff: Tell them they're coming seeking asylum.
Trump: They're coming from Insane Asylums!
He's the dumbest motherfucker alive.
45 pages into the rewrite of the script for the horror film we're shooting (and that I am directing) this Fall. The momentum is strong, the vibe is good, and the energy is through the roof.
This movie is gonna scare the HELL out of people!
Just found out from my buddy out here in Camarillo that his high school English teacher in Agoura Hills 30 years ago was none other than Lara Parker - yes, Angelique from the original DARK SHADOWS. And that is all kinds of awesome! #horrorsky
Dinner meeting with my partner producers on our next horror feature project tonight. Stoked to talk things out. It officially begins!
Currently in my apartment pool!
Wild how cheap LA used to be. When I moved here in the early `00s, I had a 2-bedroom apartment in Silverlake overlooking Sunset Blvd. It was only 800 bucks, split with my gf. We could go out for an evening of dinner/drinks/live music for like a hundred bucks combined.
Those days are looong gone.
Our unhinged, dementia-ridden President has threatened to use nuclear weapons on Iran tonight in a war that he started in a naked attempt to steal oil. Invoke the 25th Amendment now and remove this evil, insane prick from office immediately!
Amazing view of the Falcon 9 rocket trail from Camarillo tonight.
I was a little on the fence with the first season of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, but I'm all in with the second season. The prison escape in Episode 3, where Daredevil and Swordsman team up to free the the Red Hook prisoners, was one of the best fight/action scenes of either series.
Damn it. Lost another one. Just found out that my friend Bryce, who struggled throughout his life with auto-immune issues, passed away yesterday. One of the sweetest, coolest people I've known out here, he had only just turned 30. Waaaaay too young. Rest in peace, buddy. You shall be missed.
Having a melancholy day and thinking of friends and family who are no longer with me. Been on this planet for over half a century now, and I've outlived many people that I will always love. Wild that I'm still here, and I plan to make the rest of my years matter.
Having a Cinderella morning.
Sing that shit, Tom Keifer.

One look at the post should show that clearly wasn't the intent, as I was celebrating the horror genre being finally noticed at the Oscars. I didn't mention the name of WEAPONS either but instead noted it was Romero-inspired.
That horror films are finally being given their due is a good thing!
Well, hellloooooooo Mister Fancy Pants! 🤣
Yup! As someone lucky enough to have made a few films, I appreciate calling out your influences. It points people toward earlier films they may have missed. Several years ago, I wrote a film inspired by RACE WITH THE DEVIL, and I always mention it. Coogler has done the same with FDTD and others.
Well, to make things perfectly clear... I strive to make every post on Bluesky a positive one. It's so much more fun talking about the things you love, rather than the things you hate.
You only have so many characters, and it should be noted that my first words were discussing how much I absolutely adored the Academy's horror love last night. I didn't think I could be much clearer. It was a celebratory post.
But you can't please everyone. Oh well.
That's not an insult at all. I adored SINNERS. And Coogler himself obviously loves FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. As well as THE THING. As artists, we are all the sum totals of our influences, filtered through our own voices.
Absolutely adored the horror and genre love on display at the Oscars last night. Nominees included Frankenstein, a From Dusk Till Dawn riff, a Romero-esque witch movie and a remake of Save the Green Planet! Not to mention Best Director and Best Picture went to the son of Ghoulardi himself!
I was today years old when I learned that Peter Graves from the original MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE is the younger brother of James Arness from GUNSMOKE!

"Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind just came on the radio in my office. It remains the happiest, poppiest song ever made about hardcore crystal meth addiction.
