Do you also demonstrate the crippling effect of the octopus extension on a decent cannula?

Of course you admire the sentiment you’re the one that said it!

Probably is, but much less fun that way

I’m fairly sure I have. This is the one that ends along the lines of a PA sheath, a three way tap and a 50ml syringe is the quickest way to get volume in to a human

I think that there are aspects of the basic sciences that are helpful when they can be made clinically relevant.
One of my fav topics for students and foundation doctors is running through first principles of cardiac output physiology and applying to decision-making for low BP management

I’m beginning to think he’s dragging the FIFA Peace Prize into disrepute.

And while I think that some compromise of pay and conditions would be reasonable, the downside of the union taking the easy path re-messaging and demands is that there is a very large and very vocal cohort that will accept nothing short of FPR

Yeah I think that pay is the easiest banner to rally behind, it’s a clear message to say “we’re not paid enough for this shit”, whereas its much harder for a union to pull together a series of demands to make working life better for a group that have varied work environments and challenges.

This was of course me being a little shit, as is my prerogative

I think that this hits the crux of it. The UK job market for medics is not subject to market forces while the international landscape is.
Yes there are a significant number who have ties that overcome the international draw, but not enough to make the international competition insignificant

Sounds like a skill issue

I have personally verified that this is a real post

Screenshot of a tweet from a total maniac which reads “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran.
There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

One of the most unironically funny things I’ve read. I’m in bits

And of eating your Ps

Yeah not exactly the shining example of imparting sage wisdom or cultivation of educational growth so much as a series of exasperatedly conveyed pet peeves and tenuously linked anecdotes.

Plenty of time for coffee though so swings and roundabouts.

Then surely it is an excellent time for teaching on /how/ and /why/ you came to the decisions you came to, which is arguably the skill that is hardest to teach in formal teaching settings.

Did not have ‘Return of the Pulmonary Artery Catheter’ as the next arc in this season of the ICU cycle of practice

And given that sensitisation for allergy is dose-dependent, we should be using the minimum effective dose

Adequate reversal depending on the type of neuromuscular monitoring available. Quantitative: TOF >90%. Qualitative: TOF and DBS brisk without discernible fade.
Often find that the dose of sugammadex required to achieve this is smaller than the weight-based dosages

Given the rapid action of it, my practice is now out on the twitcher and titrate to effect. I see no reason why we can’t be doing that, it works so quickly you can give a dose, wait a minute or two and check.

I may just be an anaesthetist, but would *Not* recommend using cat ringworm treatment in your mouth.
Hope it helps

Yeah it took a while. To be honest mine didn’t set in for a few weeks and then it took a few weeks for it to settle after I started using the blistex. It’s something to do with microflora disturbance ?candida on overdrive. Never got to the point of trying nystatin but got close

Cannot recommend this stuff highly enough.
The stomatitis was really challenging and it just takes time to adjust. But the lip cracking was so intense that I had to carry this stuff around with me constantly.
Sugar free mints can help also

Have you just started it?
I found I ended up having to use super strong lip balm because my lips were in shreds.
Also the pain was a nightmare for the first few weeks

Like what do you mean not everyone just feels intrinsically shit in their soul because it’s winter??

In other news apparently life isn’t awful it was just dark for too many hours in the day again

Yeah so I reckon I’m going to need to get myself a sun lamp ahead of next winter

This is absolutely ideal though. Every combat/perception/important dialogue check absolute gaff.
But that one check to determine the type of wood the (unlocked) door is made from? That’s a nat 20 for you right there
