Canadian publishers strongly condemn the proposed book restrictions in @albertagov.bsky.social's Bill 28, which undermine the core principles of public libraries: open access to information, intellectual freedom, & trust in professional expertise. publishers.ca/statement-al... @lpgcanada.bsky.social

We also join our voice to calls for the maintenance of arts and culture funding across Canada! Especially in trying times, arts and culture bring us together; reflect and remind us who we are; provide comfort, challenge and inspiration.
We've been following reactions to arts funding cuts in Nova Scotia, and when one of our authors agrees to *run* if they meet their fundraising goal for an art society, we go all in. Join us in supporting Andrea Tsang Jackson's efforts here: raceroster.com/events/2026/...
"Globe and Mail bestseller" will NEVER get old. ❤️
Right on!
Ahem: MY AMAZING WIFE'S VERY GOOD BOOK IS IN ITS THIRD PRINTING
Ask for the book at your local yarn shop, bookstore, or public library; or in Canada buy it online from us...
Bit more book-nerdy content here, all about the third printing of MATH FOR KNITTERS, by @kateatherley.bsky.social. (How can you tell if your copy is from the third printing? Funny you should ask! Here's a wee video all about it!)
Since the trade war started, ChitChats has provided timely and thorough updates about shipping from Canada. Now that there's a fuel crisis on top of it, here's their update about anticipated fuel surcharges leading to shipping rate increases (Canada Post, USPS, int'l): chitchats.com/blog/annual-...

With a couple days left in the campaign, I finally had a chance to tell you properly about BE A FOOL. This book is full of joy and inspiration—and if you love bikes, even better! Watch 👇 for why this book IS like Nine Ten's other books, even as it's also different. youtube.com/shorts/MvwV3...
An illustration of a pigeon standing on a stack of books, holding a ribbon in its mouth that says, "Shop local." Text on the black background reads, "Save the date! Canadian Independent Bookstore Day. April 25, 2026."
SAVE THE DATE: Sat., April 25 is #IndieBookstoreDay! Indies across Canada will host activities and giveaways. Indie bookstores do so much for Canadian books and authors 🍁📚❤️ #CIBD2026 is our chance to say THANK YOU! Visit indiebookstores.ca/CIBD for more details about this year’s celebration.
Just a little reminder that this Sunday at Knit City Toronto I'll be at the Feisty Fibres booth 1:30-2:30pm for a book signing. Come and say hello! Copies of Math for Knitters and a few other books will be available! #knitsky 🧶
Awesome! Have so much fun!
Did you get the bookmarks I sent?
Screenshot from Kickstarter showing that the campaign to fund production of the book BE A FOOL is 74% to the goal with 8 days remaining.

Snow is blowing sideways as I eat breakfast in Iceland on the penultimate day of our spring break holiday, and I'm wondering, "Can we can get way closer to our goal to finance production of BE A FOOL by the time I get home?" Only you hold the answer 🙏 www.kickstarter.com/projects/nin...
If you haven't pledged yet, please help get us over the line -- learn all about the book and check out fab rewards at www.kickstarter.com/projects/nin...
Book cover of BE A FOOL with a badge that says, "Halfway to our goal!" Text underneath thanks backers and invites you to support the book on Kickstarter.
We're halfway to our goal to fund production of BE A FOOL! We couldn't make beautiful, inspiring books like this one without a community coming together to make it happen. Huge thanks to those who have pledged already 🙏
The cover of BE A FOOL, by the Zenga Bros has an illustration of an Infinity Cycle overlapping it. A badge declares, "New reward added!" And text underneath says, "Snag a sticker celebrating a bicycle built for two that allows riders to switch places and ride forever: the Infinity Cycle. Check it out on Kickstarter!"
We've just added a new reward to the Kickstarter for BE A FOOL! It's a sticker (and a book, obviously) to celebrate the Infinity Cycle—a bicycle built for two that allows riders to switch places and ride forever. What a marvel! New issue of Knitty is up, and my technical advice column is all about Blocking. I aim to answer a few FAQs, bust a few myths, and provide some easy solutions. knitty.com/ISSUEss26/FE... 🧶
Please share, and we hope you'll join us for the rollicking fun of this extraordinary book!
(Apologies for the mistake that indicates there will be no shipping charge on the x2 book reward; we wish we could offer free shipping, but we can't afford to 😞)
A badge says, "Last chance for earlybird pricing!" offset on top of the book cover of BE A FOOL, by the Zenga Bros. Below it reads, "'Be a Fool' is made of joy, wild creativity, & loads of fun. Back the Kickstarter and bring the book to life!"
Today's the LAST DAY for earlybird pricing on x1 and x2 book rewards in our campaign to finance BE A FOOL, by the Zenga Bros. Get 14% off the cover price in thanks for making your pledge in the first week of the month-long campaign!

Against a sky blue and white gradient background, with an illustration of a person checking a shipping manifest near a stack of parcels, a notice reads, "Spring Break Shipping Pause, March 13–29. Any purchases in our online shop during this time will ship beginning March 30, 2026."
Spring break comes early in Vancouver, and our shipping operation will be closed from March 13–March 29, 2026. Any orders placed in our online shop during that time will ship beginning March 30 (pre-orders + digital products are not affected). Our books are available at bookstores and craft shops!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to established presses who recognize the pain they went through, and try to ease it for others 🙏
I now run royalties in a matter of hours, not days and weeks, and my authors receive professional reports I'm proud to send.
Royalties are complicated and reporting/paying them is contractually deadline-driven. Startup and tiny presses can't possibly afford enterprise-level royalties management software, so each of us just does our best with spreadsheets, scribbles, calculators, Tums, and coffee.
In Canada, PubGizmo was developed in FileMaker Pro by a fabulous developer for @coachhousebooks.bsky.social (this is what I use at Nine Ten). And in the U.S., our pals at @microcosm.bsky.social have made Working Lit available as a browser-based system.
There are two indie presses that I know of, one in Canada and one in the U.S., that have made affordable royalties software available to tiny presses like mine. This choice not to hoard solutions to complex challenges is an absolute game-changer.
