2nd image: Another Crimson Desert screenshot. sunset over very high mountain peaks in the background, ominous dark clouds mostly obscure the mountains and a large tower far in the background with some sunbeams coming through, Chararcter Kliff stands in the foreground wearing a wolf's head hood.

Realized I forgot alt text:
1st image: daytime screenshot from Crimson Desert. Main character, Kliff, stands on a statue featuring a wolf defeating a bear. In the background is a forest and white cliffside with fluffy white clouds above.
Also, I really gotta hand it to the developers for the rapid patching they've done since launch. They've already addressed many of the QoL issues I had with it, and they seem very receptive to player feedback without doing anything to majorly harm the core experience.
I definitely believe the reports that the game's story was in hell and rewritten later in development. But even with those flaws, I'm enjoying the overarching progression so far, from having your warrior tribe broken apart and slowly rebuilding their numbers and fame in a new land.
Some quests are wonderfully acted, particularly anything involving your fellow Greymanes. But other quests, it's PAINFULLY obvious that they didn't record new dialogue for the main character because I've heard Kliff utter the same monotone "Yes" at least a couple dozen times now in response to npcs,
Some further thoughts on Crimson Desert.
I'm about 100 hours in now, still feels like i'm around the first 1/3 of the game based solely on how far quests have taken me around the map. The game slowly doles out systems in a way that avoids feeling overwhemling, I really enjoy the camp expansion...
Rules of Acquisition: A crime drama about a down on his luck Ferengi, who has to navigate the various trading/legal systems of the Ferengi, Federation, Klingons, Cardassians, Romulans etc.

One thing I find interesting is that despite seemingly the ENTIRE INDUSTRY trying to kill VR and make it seem as uncool as possible... VRChat has grown almost every month for almost eight years now and is among the top 25 most played things on Steam.
Niche? Perhaps, but a big & hungry one.
Artemis splashdown looked great. So many moving parts that have to go right in any space mission, glad to see everything went smoothly.
Oh, avoid updating HWMonitor or CPU-Z for the time being I guess, looks like their site got compromised, sending people to download a malicious file instead of the official updates. Sounds like their site might be down at the moment, but definitely wait for the all clear.
Ooh, I see Still Wakes the Deep on there. If you haven't played that, it's a masterpiece in terms of visual fidelity and character acting. It's about a 5-7hour experience as well.
Polytheism vs Monotheism
Me at 37 walking with a limp for several days because I slept on my leg in a weird position a few nights ago.
New Lethal Company update came out, and the game is just as hilarious and terrifying as ever. Zeekerss is a creative genius when it comes to blending comedy and horror.
The President is too unstable to serve. The 25th Amendment needs to be invoked to stop the President from doing further damage to the safety and security of the US and the world.
We should be called back to DC now to vote on the War Power's Resolution to stop the war.
Did bro really fake his death for views?!?! I knew the algorithm was making it hard on content creators, but wow!
The world is full of interesting people
I played a couple dozen hours of Black Desert a few years ago but never really got too far into it, tho I did enjoy the combat quite a bit. I've seen reviewers make comparisons to it tho, in regard to some later game grinding, so I guess I'll have to wait and see if it starts to feel like a slog.
elements is fine. But I think the line between objective and subjective qualities has gotten horribly muddied and would appreciate if people could better distinguish between the two instead of lashing out because they want to join the praise/hate mob for whatever new thing.
and vice versa as well. Just because you can't get into a game, I don't think it's fair to call it objectively mediocre or boring, when it seems pretty apparent that a lot of people are having the time of their life with it. Pointing out things you dislike, or objectively broken/buggy..
discourse on games wasn't so vitriolic these days tho, where people get so upset if someone gives a middling or negative review to a game they enjoy. People should be more willing to admit that even if they think something is the best game ever, other people may find the game totally uninteresting..
Been playing Crimson Desert a bunch of the last day, way too early to give any kind of overall impression of it, but I can tell already that is an insanely massive ambitious game. I can also tell it won't be enjoyable for everyone, even tho I'm enjoying much of what it has to offer. I wish...
The bad German guy from Indiana Jones and the temple of doom, seconds before his face melts off, screaming. He is lit wonderfully from the front.
The same German guy whose face is now melting and his eyes are rolling back into his head because he had been blasted by DLSS 5 YASSIFY FILTER and the lighting is now washing out any potential for cast shadows, like a weaponized ring light

You're in for a treat, saw them last year, amazing live show!
The feeling of relief when you got to that one class you dreaded and there was a substitute teacher with one of these carts rolled out.
