PS: What's that got to do with Val Lewton and THE CAT PEOPLE?

Hmm, what are you saying? Look, it doesn't matter—it went down as it went down, it was what it was, it is what it is. We told Alan Moore we were going to keep sneaking Sting into SWAMP THING panels, "better make him a character." Alan made him into John Constantine. Live with it.
Seen in theater this past week.
Binging this coming week on whatever-is-playing-in-local-theater venues.
One of my pitches for kaiju for my abortive collaboration on Dark Horse's GODZILLA comic book back in the 1980s. I revamped this for my own uses later on.
Me, reading morning news every fucking fucking fucking fucking goddamned shitass monkey-tit-twisted morning.
Val Lewton, producer of the classic THE CAT PEOPLE (1942), wrote this short story for WEIRD TALES in the early 1930s. Tracked down a copy of the issue for a different tale, pleasantly surprised to find this in the same issue—a forgotten slice of genre film history origins, in the pulps.
NEW WORK: Proud to be part of two new books, just out; TRUTH & SOUL, career overview of Robert Downey Sr. (my chapter's on Downey's lost TV movie of David Rabe's STICKS & BONES), and JACKSPLOITATION on filmmaker Jack Hill (my piece: SPIDER BABY, baby!). 1st up: spectacularoptical.com/product/trut...
NEW WORK: I've a batch of new work recently or just out on blu-ray/4K, including my full commentary track for Pete Walker's 1974 FRIGHTMARE! See the review at: cinemaretro.com/index.php?/a...
Sans hat. I didn't get blistered for wearing my hat indoors!

I asked, and Cardinal Syn says 'no', also for no rational reason.
The original Cardinal Syn portrait I painted the very morning of my final dream/nightmare with this fella.
Original art was returned by the great Murphy Anderson III earlier this year; it had been out of my reach since 1996, I'd given up on ever seeing it again, but Murphy's the hero!
Paraphrasing the Ramones: "Gamma Gamma HEY!"

[one of 2 new art pieces I did to accompany my GAMMA PEOPLE retrospective/'making of' article for LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS #53, out later this spring]
Contributed full article, artwork to forthcoming final issue of one of my all-time favorite zines, LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS (#53). I mail-ordered #1 from Dick Klemensen when I was in high school, kept my full run/set—overjoyed to be a small part of final issues (#52 GORGO volume & #53, out soon!)
The TYRANT® Kickstarter finale Thursday nite was an incredible experience, with longtime amigos like Paul Pope, Mark Schultz, Michael Ryan, Don Simpson etc. joining the conversation; met new folks, rethinking my life accordingly (all good)... THANK YOU everyone! www.kickstarter.com/projects/com...
I didn't post about it when it happened (January 2025), but lost a lot of books/zines/magazines/comics/backstock in a basement library flood last year. Spent about 6 weeks with books etc. drying by our gas stove enuf to inventory losses before disposing of it all. Bummer, but dealt with it.
James Kochalka was THERE!
A Heap. A Heap. O' boinin' LOVE.
1851, folks. "Comic books" as a retail term.
Scrolling a sea of "Target" targeted posts with nonexistent links that say "Deleted."
Bluesky consumer zen.
Wait, is that my name? I'm honored!
Scorchin'!
The clock is ticking... just a few days left!
Define "sexiest."
Shared some BARBARELLA lovin' with longtime pal Mark Nelson, promotional bits & intro for the upcoming 35mm BIG SCREEN showing at the Mahoning Drive-In in PA—first recording of the day, completed!
One more to go tonight (podcast for the TYRANT® Kickstarter, now in its final days)...
It's true; I've only seen 2 Canada license plates in VT in 2026 thus far. We're justifiably considered a pariah nation now, & neighboring states like NH are working hard to become pariah states within our nation (there's already a list of 'em I'll never willingly spend a nickel in again in my life).
