i'm not the biggest fan of the largest ones esp. after I too saw one eating a pigeon (roadkill), but then I also saw one fish a discarded salad!! out of a bin and I really should try find that one in my photo archive.

I wasn't blocked but why's feeds aren't working for me either, 500 server issue.
Ellenabeich has a wee museum which is well worth a visit, it tells the stories mentioned in the blog + more. Easdale is tiny, no more than 20 minutes to walk around, and when I visited I made a duggie pal who wanted to play fetch - with a piece of slate!
Nature recovering from human activity can make for weird post-industrial landscapes - an island that sunk from quarrying, a village built on mining spoils, another island that's as much soil as flooded quarries.

they're overselling the cat petting bit, but it's a nice (and short) game
A gaming post for #WyrdWednesday, as I played through Strange Horticulture last week.
A slow paced eerie game, with mysteries to be solved by identifying plants.

my niece explaining what happens when she and her brother get pizza, illustrated by dogs.
This is Jemma and Bean. Jemma likes to eat her cheese snacks. Bean prefers to eliminate hers. 13/10 for both (TT: bjkuhn)
Mine's a Read Books version, but I see they now do a Cast Spells one too! www.bonfire.com/read-books-p... by @bookmoon.bsky.social with proceeds going to charity

then when i heard canvassers come into the building in the evening I put on my Punch Nazis t-shirt before opening the door, but it turned out to be Greens so we had a nice little chat and they liked my T-shirt
it was another 30min after it had landed at another airport that our flight got officially cancelled 🤷
memories of my showing flightradar to the gate staff who had zero clue what was going on while i was seeing the plane supposed to carry us had left with an hour delay, then flew an extra 200-300 miles to go around a storm, then an aborted landing, then diverted...
Yes - mainly Indian/Pakistani though (great for mangoes!) and a few Chinese, so I won't be getting my hopes up too high.
yeah I wonder if simple peanuts/monkey nuts might not work better - last time I saw a mouse in my kitchen I had an open bag of monkey nuts in a thick supermarket bag on the floor! it couldn't get in, but i moved the bag higher up and it's not been back
You should be able to find humane traps that the cats will leave alone (even if not, they won't get injured), the ones I got came with instructions suggesting peanut butter or choc spread to lure the mouse in.
Having said that, the mouse just went back to wherever it came from, I didn't capture it!
This carries a risk they look up the Hoff and they find this and go wtaf at the Harry Styles comparison youtu.be/PJQVlVHsFF8?...
I got on the Barcelona - Benicassim train with my ticket only and stood in the bar coach.
I got thrown out at the first stop in Tarragona!
So yeah that was my lesson learnt, but they hadn't updated the booking system one or 2 years later either.
The reason for that Benicassim train story was the crazy RENFE website back then. Fast trains required a seat reservation. From outside Spain, I could only purchase tickets (fine for the slow train from border to Barcelona eg) but not reservations!
I bought only a ticket a previous year.
Romcom stuff for you guys.
2002, Benicassim. The only train I'd managed to book to get back to Barcelona (from where I could use local trains to get to the border then French night train) was leaving at 7.10am from Castellon 10+ kms away.
Said my goodbyes, went and packed up and found myself in..
ouch. even so, i'm wondering whether some of the world food shops here may sometimes have some of the Asian varieties, but even that will be a long shot.
Wait, why is it in Europe (UK at least) we get told that Cavendish are the only surviving banana species?!
that stupid Dubai chocolate craze was finally abating after driving prices up and now this
Chromecast. Newer TVs may have it built-in, otherwise one off payment for the HW dongle then it works without even setting up a Google account.
My photo shows a Hellenistic era hemispherical mosaic glass bowl viewed from above. The glass has a floral pattern made up of tiny, many-petalled blue, white, and yellowy-green flowers against a dark purple background (looks black in my photo). The bowl has an alternating diagonal-striped black and white glass rim. The bowl has been reconstructed from fragments and the plain light blue areas are where missing glass fragments have been replaced during reconstruction. It measures 13.2 cm in diameter and 7.5 cm in height. It was made in the eastern Mediterranean about 200-100 BC.
This Hellenistic mosaic glass bowl looks so modern, yet it was made over 2,000 years ago!
Ancient glassmakers created the tiny flower pattern using a technique now known as ‘millefiori’ (thousand flowers). A timeless design still made by glassmakers today!

And it's also shown me the amount of fine tuning and challenging the initial replies that is needed to get something satisfactory. It would be a waste of time for normal emails and writing!
I've found myself using Copilot this week to help with cover letters, and it's interesting how these things have grown to take account of personal style. Just from my own drafts or revisions to its suggestions it will shift tone etc. Something to be aware of. But that's really an exception.
I actually tried and asked the priest but he wouldn't excommunicate me.
(true story, i think after yet another child abuse scandal and probably during creepy Benedikt)
ChatGPT: you’re right you’re so much smarter than him. He’s so schlubby and you’re so suave. Columbo will never catch you.
We shared the cab to Castellon, I caught my train with minutes to spare.
Anyway this was real life not a movie, I didn't even find him attractive, so no we didn't exchange numbers or keep in touch.
PS: I'd have had a Nokia 32 or 3310 by then, but international calling was not within my means!
