Pretty confident someone we can be excited about will make it to 22

Let’s gooooo!!!!!!!!!!
Rockets sitting KD, Alpy, Jabari, Amen for tomorrow's game against the tanking Grizzlies.
The result of the game does not matter for Houston's seeding. Rockets are locked into No. 5. Here's what will determine their playoff opponent.
Or Celtics or Tobias and the Pistons. I’d rather just get the season over with and let Maxey’s finger heal and let Joel heal up and not even worry about trying to rush back.
A full team available. I also thought it would be helpful for VJ to get playoff reps, and would get to play in some high leverage moments. Now I think I’d honestly rather just miss the playoffs and have that slim chance at a top pick. It would be no fun watching us get beat easily by the Knicks
From a Sixers perspective, I was getting excited to see what Embiid would look like in the playoffs, it felt like he was holding back some and was going to go all out once the playoffs started. I didn’t think we could win a title or anything, but it would have been nice to watch them compete with
I feel so bad for Jo. Works his way back from injury that looked like it could end his career and is finally entering the playoffs reasonably healthy. Now he’s having surgery for appendicitis. Hope he gets well soon. Has to really weigh on him.
Win and help the rockets pick, or lose and help maybe get a 4.8% chance (or possibly more if some of the 9/10s make it out of the play in) at top 4 instead of 2.4%. Give me Golden State making it out of the playoffs and somehow getting a 7.1% chance
Awesome win for the Sixers. On the road against the hottest team in the league. Huge game for the playoff standings. Would love to get to top 6 and skip the play in. Would be nice to have a week of practice before the playoffs
I know it didn’t work for the Timberwolves with the Dillingham trade, but if there was any chance to make a trade like that to move up from 21 and get Wagler I’d do it in a heartbeat. His passing and shooting are exactly what we are missing. I think he’s going to be a star
Outside of Peterson, AJ, Boozer, Wilson, and Wagler who would be easy yes, Ament stands out. Reminds me a lot of Ace last year. High variance player, but if he hits would fit well with Maxey and VJ. Some really good guards with decent size too. If Stirtz goes in the 20s I think he’d be a steal.
I don’t particularly want a guard, but I would take Stirtz if he made it to us too. Seen him all over the place in mocks. I think he’ll be an instant contributor with some upside. If the Sixers were offered a lottery pick in this draft for the 28 LAC 1st, at what pick would you say yes? Any target?
New favorite for the Houston pick after watching this Ivy League final, TJ Power lol. Former 5 star, 6’9” and can shoot the lights out. Went for 44 and 14 rebounds. Friends with Jared McCain, were freshman on Duke together
I’d lean Swain and Allen of this group right now
Top 4 pick coming soon 👀
Lopez, Allen, Swain are the 3 I’m most interested in right now. 3 wings who all have some clear strengths. I’m hoping the pick can get up to around 21, as long as guys declare it looks like we should be able to get an interesting prospect.
Found it, from an article by Adam Aaronson. Sixers would only owe a 2028 second rounder to the nets if we got lucky and the pick went top 4 this year.
Same. It does get complicated. I think at the end of the day Daryl just couldn’t get OKC to give up the Sixers pick. I don’t think he valued McCain highly and saw the Hou pick and the 2nds as worth it. I wouldn’t have done the trade, but I would have tried for our own pick back and take out the 2nds
I’d have to look it up, but I feel like last year I read something that said if the Sixers keep the 26 pick then the nets only get 2 second rounders. It doesn’t get pushed again. I need to fact check myself, that could be wrong. In that case, I imagine nets would agree to just get the 28 pick.
I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Morey and Nurse for trading away McCain. That was the final straw. I gave them a pass on some things that I felt were out of their control to an extent (Embiid and PG injuries etc) but this was purely self-inflicted. Time to clean house.
If the way this Sixers season ends is a loss in the play in leading to keeping the pick by hitting the lottery and jumping into the top 4 that would be insane. Incredible draft class with 3 big wings expected to go top 4. If Maxey is hurt and misses a few weeks, falling to the 10 seed is very likely
Last two lotteries the #1 pick went to 10 seeds who lost in the play in. Sixers next 👀
Looked that up about a week ago lol. I think it was the hawks who jumped to 1 from losing in the play in. In this draft I’d be so excited to get any top 4 pick, and even more so because we lose the pick if it doesn’t. Something to hope for if things continue to fall apart.
I don’t think he’s a great athlete, but I didn’t think he was a bad athlete either. It can be really tough for me to tell athleticism in other leagues though. He didn’t seem to move noticeably poorly compared to other former prospects in the NBL to me. I really liked Sarr, Giddey, and Lamelo.
He’s my favorite prospect for the Sixers so far. He’s been productive in a good league at a really young age. I think he could eventually be a starting 3/4 with upside. I really enjoyed reading about him as a person too. He’s the face of Mexican basketball which is pretty cool. Seems really driven.
Mocks are all over the place right now, but one of my early favorites is Karim Lopez. I always fall for the international players, and Lopez has a great profile. He’ll be the face of Mexican basketball. Swain is also really intriguing, he’s a legit 3 point shot away from being a lottery talent.
I’ve watched one YouTube breakdown, highlights, and watched most of the Michigan Duke game live so far. He is really fun to watch, I wish he was a better scorer. Going to be tough for him to overpower guys in the post the NBA. But the passing and rim protection are really intriguing.
Yeah, very odd. Sounds like the analytics love him. And Santa Clara has produced some recent NBA talent. I love a unique player. That’s why I ended up high on Edey, but also on Pokusevski a couple years ago.
You’re the first person I’ve seen mention Graves. Interesting player, don’t see many redshirt freshman go to the NBA. I’ll definitely have to research more on him as well. Can’t wait til the conference tournaments, march madness, and then draft season. Rockets needs to lose some more
If we got our own pick back instead of the Houston pick in the (incredibly stupid) McCain trade I’d be eyeing a tank today. Team vibes are easily the lowest they’ve been all year. We’ll see if Embiid is playing tonight and we can get back on track.
