A screenshot of my cat model when I worked on weight painting (again). I needed to blend the weights so there were no harsh lines when their head twists. Still have to fix their shoulders though.

I'll wait until the game is more complete before polishing.

A gentler ride this time.

There is an issue with the cat model sliding off the AnimatableBody3D as it rotates (even slowly!)...

Found an open issue on this problem. Hopefully it works out. github.com/godotengine/...

For now it'll just be a slidey train!

That’s what I thought VLC was converting the .avi file to in their dropdown (apparently it’s some apple thing, the .m4v extension). I’ll have a look at kdenlive, thanks for reminding me about it.

More issues with uploading videos, renaming .m4v to .mov doesn't work. Trimming the same video on my phone works for some reason? I just used ffmpeg to change .avi to .mp4 and then trimmed it on my computer, which works (used VLC before)! Seems like the video length is correct as well.

Back at it again! I was working on data structures for conversations using csv files. Now every npc should be able to have their own unique dialogue. Translations should also be simple to add as well. Visually, progress looks the same...

Recorded a quick video of the current state of interactions. You can talk to NPCs (no custom conversations yet).

I can't believe this took me days to do in the past, but now it only took me a few hours to add in (with less bugs!).

Panel 1: The Bun news anchor straightens their papers aggressively against the table and mumbles, "papers in order..." At the bottom left corner, the station name is shown, "BUN NEWS". The news ticker says, "Welcome~".

Panel 2: The Bun looks up at the camera, lowers their papers, and clears their throat, "ehem... today we have a local bun interview". The news ticker changes in interest, "Wow! An interview?"

Panel 3: Another Bun is introduced onto the scene at the news anchor's left side (right side of panel). The Bun news anchor lays their papers down, gestures to them, and asks, "what are your thoughts today?". They ponder for a moment, then reply, "... if you stare into the mirror, does that count towards resetting your eye strain?" The news ticker seems incredulous, "Health tips???"

Panel 4: The Bun news anchor also seems concerned about the interviewee's mental wellbeing, their expression changes to a questioning and mildly concerned one. They conclude, "and so we have it folks... we'll have more news as we get it". They pick up their papers and aggressively straightens them once more. The interviewee Bun seems unconcerned, they sparkle and vigorously wave, "bye bye". The news ticker shares the sentiments of the news anchor, "An oddity..." it remarks.

Is anyone having issues with uploading videos recently? Uploading a video of x-m4v type is unsupported although I think I have done so before? Also a new issue with uploading trimmed videos (mov), what I see locally is different than the uploaded version (using a different device to upload it works)

Worked on interaction, it seems to be ok for now! Store surrounding areas in a dictionary for looking at them (enter & exit signals). To actually interact with them look at them directly (raycast3d).

When I quickly added a wall and doorway using CSG meshes, I realized that the scale of this game is seriously much larger than the little concept drawing I made. I can't wait to see this to the end!
