Several years ago I opted out from MyMedicare.

Tomorrow I am moving into respite care, where, despite the paperwork clearly stating that signing up to MyMedicare is voluntary, unless I sign up, I can't be admitted.

A new meaning of the word voluntary, I see.

Beyond annoying, I'm afraid. In one 24 hour period I've gone from mostly independent to "is this where and how I die"

Chemo is working, but I'm being challenged by other issues that affect my various blood levels and BP. That affects my ability to deal with physio, and I now have a thick wad of paper to complete for a respite care residency. 😢

Yes, stodgy is an apt description, but done well, with the right fixins, they make a great breakfast or snack.

When I lived in CA and TX we had a rotating member of staff bring in bagels and donuts for Friday breakfast. As well as the requisite fixins.
