Just a few days, I start treating patients at my uni in Gaza. I'm doing it completely for free—no fees for them. But between tuition & dental supplies, the costs are piling up.
Pls share or help so I can keep fixing smiles✨️🦷

This is disturbing.
No one should have to forfeit their sensitive biometric info to enjoy a game or a show in New York City. That MSG is using their invasive surveillance tech to track and discriminate against a Knicks fan who is trans is absolutely appalling.
'We Palestinians Are Not Going Away' is a zine made up of first-person accounts of the war / genocide in Gaza, Palestine.
Download it (it's free), print it and distribute it ✨

BAFTA pulling a trailer for an autobiographical game about surviving sexual assault only hours before it was said to be a part of a showcase is an exceptionally bad look.
Rightwing media capture cont'd. Hachette's fascist-adjacent owner forces out Grasset's famed editor. And if you think 'That doesn't affect me,' he owns Little Brown, Orion, Conran Octopus, Cassell, Mulholland, Voracious, Abacus, Constable, Corsair, Piatkus, Sphere, Virago...& probably ones I forget
A traffic cone beside an arched & tiled pillar with depictions of a cocktail, microscope, commuter train, sunburst, and native wild rice plants.
Our first tile microscope…hoping for many more.
People who chased Molly off this site are participants in the genocide, if you wonder why I dont allow replies or even QTs at this point from anyone other than moots its actually because after a certain size doing any kind of actual material help for folks brings you wild harassment.
It’s inaccurate to say Mario is brave and Luigi is cowardly
Luigi is afraid of death, so he runs away from danger. Mario is afraid of living, so he runs towards death. Both brothers are cowards in their own way
My wife asked me to repost this in case some folks missed it.
She is de-stashing her treasure hoard of yarn. There's a lot of it. It's kinda taken over the house. I'm in the attic of the garage right now. Help?

Your support has fed and clothed Sama'a and her children for years now. Every morning she expresses deep gratitude in spite of the terrible conditions in Gaza. Please give what you can.

1) My name is Suad, and this is my son, Omar. We live a life that doesn't resemble life at all. Our days are filled with fear and exhaustion, and our nights are devoid of security. All I want is not much just 2 see my child well, 2 have his most basic rights: treatment, safety, & a normal childhood
Photo I took of these wonderful people (the faces of whom I’ve blacked out) singing happy Birthday to their lovely old dog at a bar I was at tonight in Portland
I was at a dog-friendly bar in NW Portland tonight and a table behind me started singing Happy Birthday and then I realized it wasn’t for a person but a really old dog who was wearing a crown and he was old and fucking adorable and I love this city

Medical students in Gaza restore one of the oldest libraries after it was bombed by the Israeli occupation.
Island kids in Fiji can’t get to school because boat fuel prices have skyrocketed. They have a message for world leaders.
Be sure to read the whole thing.
ZOHRAN: “TBH, I don’t think too much about how Republicans portray me. The power of an ideology is judged in the worth of its delivery— to be told a city-run grocery store is implausible but $500 MILLION/day to kill ppl in Iran & Lebanon is necessary speaks to a broken politics.”
Also: people who are self-employed with no subsidies.
This is Achrioptera manga, a giant phasmid or stick insect native to Madagascar.
The specific epithet, "manga" means blue in Malagasy & it's not hard to see why. Only males are blue.
The tiny back wings ("alae") are an example of brachyptery: they're useless for flight, but have other functions.
"Those taxes you just paid? The money is going straight into Trump's pocket" would be good messaging
This is incredible. If you know the work, it's just added clarity compared to the existing recordings, but somehow the effect is transcendent.
New on the Anthropic settlement from the @authorsguild.org : over 91% (!!) of eligible books were claimed as of the claims deadline (I would not have predicted such a high number!)
Looks like the payout will be close to the $3000 originally estimated authorsguild.org/news/anthrop...

Short, whimsical in the good way, also angry in the good way. For a book written 70 years ago it reads very modern and does delightful things with myth and history. I realise the term is slightly pejorative but a cozy written by someone who has ideas is probably the booktok summary.
