Nah, but "Southern Pride" sounds exactly like what I'd expect an LGBTQ+ bookstore in downtown Atlanta to be called. But really I was just trying to inject a little levity.

Depends on the context and other branding. "Southern Pride" on a rainbow flag is *probably* fine.

For some seniors it’s not a matter of understanding. It’s a matter of trust. Anyone paying attention has heard about data breaches exposing important information. Also, younger people may not know/care but who owns the data on the other end of the transaction and will it be used against us?

No. If we just focus on voter capture and not actual movement building how will labor organize to make demands

We need to be building socialist, independent working class power that makes demands from outside liberal electoral coalitions. We need to be thinking about that always. Not just later

Anyway real socialist movement building will never be limited to just “voter capture” and I’m very tired of this premise being readily assumed by everyone for “pragmatic” reasons aka “this is just the situation we are in”

“socialists need to manage their criticism of Obama” but no one is telling liberals they need to manage praise of Obama to remain credible to the people who lived through his admins management of the foreclosure crisis or keeping us on fossil fuels when most people worried about climate change etc

We are continually being told to moderate our politics to remain viable within a “coalition” that represents a shrinking fraction of the country and in reality represents the capitalist class and is highly influenced by funders and consultants

It’s interesting how socialists should always be managing their politics and criticism in reference to what Democratic leaders find acceptable because they might be deemed ungettable voters when 1/3+ of the country already consistently opt out of standard bourgeois electoral politics (voting D or R)

Trust a cartoon to expose the charlatan and his cohort in the simplest manner possible.

He’s not done.

Brazil still has a Bolsonaro problem. Hungary will have an Orban problem for a few years.

So, what? Have the vehicle track everywhere you go?

Should it also monitor your travel habits for "irregularities" too?

Freetown Christiania - Wikipedia

Oh, I mean this thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetow...

Squatters turned part of the city into an autonomous zone in the really early 20th century, and well, the Danish government realized guaranteeing some minimum level of welfare made it a lot less likely.

Ya know what. Sure. Let's do it, on the condition that it means they're entitled to the same labor protections (minimum wage, collective bargaining rights, etc.) every citizen is.

And when The Affordable Care Act was going through Congress Sarah Palin notably called it "death panels," claiming the law’s independent payment advisory board would allow bureaucrats to decide who was worthy of care. 🙄 but it is fine for insurance companies to do it!

It's a lot of why Denmark had such good social programs early on. Copenhagen was a wake up call for them.

You know, at one time mystery shopping was a paid job.

These surveys come off to me as trying to get unpaid QA work out of customers.

I distinctly recall back in 2005 or '06 someone put a local Fox segment up on YouTube to laugh at, where they were taking about a "hacking group called anonymous" that was really just the writers' and anchors' complete misunderstanding of what anonymous 4chan greenposts were.

Anonymous was always only ever psyop. Exactly like qanon. Always hinting at some insider secret, never showing any evidence of actual access.

In the Arab Spring, some hacking groups were helping to set up VPNs, and I think that's where the anonymous mythology began.

It's just base 64 encoded text. *Sometimes* that gets around prompt injection protections, but it's working less often as the model providers have gotten wise to it.

If anyone happens to be reading this, somehow posting that helped? A lot

While true, nothing stops anyone from putting a website on a raspberry pi and running it from their living room, and even that hasn't happened yet

No. Using lmgtfy is passive-aggressive. Don't be willfully ignorant.

And yet the owners of the Ram TRX will be the first to shout "won't someone please think of the children" about their pet political issue
