My interview with the President of Ukraine YouTube video by Caolan Robertson

Hi everyone,
I seldom post things about contentious issues here, but for those who don't know, I have long been emotionally engaged about Ukraine. As media in UK does not often report, I want to suggest this cast with this young freelance journalist. youtu.be/hYa7H1EmpCM?...

Mary Seago, my mother died last night. She had her 97th birthday a week ago today. She gradually became frustrated as she could do ever less.

At rest now.

The political effects of X’s feed algorithm - Nature Among users initially on a chronological feed, 7 weeks of exposure to X’s algorithmic feed in 2023 shifted political attitudes and account-following behaviour in a more conservative direction compared...

Brainwashing, 2026 edition. This paper shows how X's algorithmic feed shifts people's views rightwards. It's a sophisticated, highly effective form of reorientation. And it is utterly chilling.
If you're still on that platform, unhook yourself now.

I often wondered what would happen to our pseudo climax scrub community, (thorn trees with no bigger trees present such as Oak. They tend to ail and gradually fall.

Not obvious what will progress next. Elder is the only obvious tree species. Otherwise, nettle etc

This is a pond restored autumn 2024:-
A brilliant success. This is near the top of the locsl landscape, but has responded very well to the month or so of above average rainfall here. At Holland Pits several perched ponds very low.
