'AI Is African Intelligence': The Workers Who Train AI Are Fighting Back Kenyan workers are still the underpaid labor behind AI training, moderation, and sex chatbots. The Data Labelers Association is fighting back.

"AI is not a magical tool built by people in San Francisco making millions of dollars a year and pushing their companies to insane valuations. Artificial intelligence is an extractive technology that relies on the brutal labor of underpaid workers around the world"

when you win a small concession you just get to keep yelling btw. one time a local official said to me "you people are never happy" and like: correct! it is not our job to be happy with compromise! it's our job to be annoying forever actually

I think these are my great grandparents? My grandfather died when my dad was in high school, and with him, any connection to my family's Macedonian heritage. I always wish I could have seen some of it firsthand.

I'm at my dad's condo to clear it out for sale. I keep finding little things that make me emotional. Going to post them in a thread because I just want to share them.

Yeah, especially because there is a lot of writing to do in games, but there is a more or less "fixed" amount of it to be done. Consulting writers allow for that writing to get done faster, and when it's "done" or close to it, the contracts end and in-house writers can handle edits and anything new.

We should destroy marriage as a legal concept. Any tax or legal status that exists for marriage should instead exist for a household, which can include any number of people - polycules, extended families, roommates who share expenses, whatever.
