Archivists don't wear gloves when working with old books and paper, we just wash our hands beforehand. If we wear gloves we lose tactile sensation and run the risk of ripping the paper. (Gloves are for artifacts and film.)

I went to a new endocrinologist in late February who actually ran a battery of tests and listened to me, so now I'm finally getting treated for the insulin resistance I've likely been dealing with for years. I hope this works, I really do.

I had to really fight to even get this diagnosed. Endocrinologists kept dismissing me when I said there was still something wrong besides my thyroid disorder. I finally got my GP to run an insulin resistance test because she listens to me and lo and behold, I was right.

Started my insulin resistance medication on Friday night. As a result I'm not feeling too great as my body adjusts, but it's a lovely day and I get to lay here with my window open and baseball on the radio so it's not so bad.

My favorite horse weighs 106 tons and eats coal instead of hay and carrots and I love her so much.

Someone called in a bomb threat at, of all places, the Strasburg Rail Road yesterday and although it appears to have been a false alarm I've still put the stream on via Virtual Railfan to check on 90. Just making sure my favorite horse is fine. She seems perfectly okay.

Was trying to go on a nice walk and unfortunately witnessed a child bending down despite his mother's protests to touch goose droppings. I do not have the fortitude to be a parent.
