Just seeing this now, sorry! With Murphy I used a brush called the Furminator!

Today is the 17th anniversary of the day Murphy and I met, and the first time I'm spending that day without him since his passing on Saturday. I'm...not okay, if we're being honest.

Fandom entitlement is on another level when you have one group picking apart clip after leaked clip of a theatrical release (originally) based on their beloved animated media as if they own it now, and another group that is complaining that they have to go to the theater to see their beloved media.

Here’s what we’re not talking about.1 in 31 children are now diagnosed with autism in the United States. We have awareness campaigns, puzzle pieces, and blue lights everywhere. And 85% of autistic adults with college degrees are unemployed. Not underemployed. Unemployed. The highest rate of any disability group. Higher than people with physical disabilities. Higher than people with vision or hearing loss. The national unemployment rate is 4.5%. For autistic college graduates, it’s nearly 20 times that. This isn’t a skills problem. Autistic adults are often exceptionally skilled — in pattern recognition, systems thinking, technical precision, and sustained focus on complex problems. It’s a hiring problem. The modern interview process was designed by and for neurotypical people. It rewards eye contact, small talk, and social performance — none of which measure whether someone can do the job. Autistic adults who disclose their diagnosis face discrimination in more than half of cases. Most employers have no autism-specific onboarding or support. And now Congress is cutting Medicaid — the primary funder of adult autism services — at the same time.We built an entire system to diagnose autism in children. We built almost nothing for what happens when those children grow up.Awareness isn’t enough. Hire them.🔎 Sources:1️⃣ Drexel University Autism Institute — Autism Employment Fact Sheet2️⃣ Motivity — “Autism and Unemployment Rates: Factors and Solutions” (May 2025)3️⃣ UK Office for National Statistics — “Autism and employment gap” (Feb. 2021)4️⃣ World Economic Forum — “Invisible Workforce: Late neurodiversity diagnoses cost women and economies” (March 2026)

Playing Spot Artemis to keep myself from being too nervous during splashdown. He's still helping and doing a great job!

Me: The Artemis II mission is doing an amazing job of reminding me about what's important in this lifetime, and not to waste so much of my energy suffering over little stuff that really isn't very consequential in the end.

Also me: This fucking bullpen

Today is National School Librarian Day. THANK YOU, school librarians & school library workers. We celebrate you. For so many library kids, the school library is the only place they have access to books. It is where they learn to believe that stories are for them. Thank you for your library joy 💛📚🥹🤟🏽

PHOTOS: Artemis II astronauts capture Earth's brilliant beauty The first photo taken by commander Reid Wiseman shows a curved slice of Earth in one of the capsule’s windows.

The Artemis II astronauts have captured our blue planet's brilliant beauty as they zoom ever closer to the moon.

NASA released the crew's first downlinked images Friday, 1 1/2 days into the first astronaut moonshot in more than half a century.

Archivists don't wear gloves when working with old books and paper, we just wash our hands beforehand. If we wear gloves we lose tactile sensation and run the risk of ripping the paper. (Gloves are for artifacts and film.)

I went to a new endocrinologist in late February who actually ran a battery of tests and listened to me, so now I'm finally getting treated for the insulin resistance I've likely been dealing with for years. I hope this works, I really do.

I had to really fight to even get this diagnosed. Endocrinologists kept dismissing me when I said there was still something wrong besides my thyroid disorder. I finally got my GP to run an insulin resistance test because she listens to me and lo and behold, I was right.

Started my insulin resistance medication on Friday night. As a result I'm not feeling too great as my body adjusts, but it's a lovely day and I get to lay here with my window open and baseball on the radio so it's not so bad.

My favorite horse weighs 106 tons and eats coal instead of hay and carrots and I love her so much.

Someone called in a bomb threat at, of all places, the Strasburg Rail Road yesterday and although it appears to have been a false alarm I've still put the stream on via Virtual Railfan to check on 90. Just making sure my favorite horse is fine. She seems perfectly okay.

Was trying to go on a nice walk and unfortunately witnessed a child bending down despite his mother's protests to touch goose droppings. I do not have the fortitude to be a parent.

The person featured in the article somehow achieved these speeds with Percy, who promptly derails in both videos because it's him and he's arguably best known for weird accidents.

The steam train world speed record has stood for 87 years: yes, you can beat it in the new Thomas the Tank Engine game Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor players have beaten the real world speed record for a steam train, held by Mallard since 1938.

Okay, I'm persuaded. Literally all you need to do to get me to buy something is mention Mallard and her speed record.

They did reverse it, but they then proceeded to go back to banning trans women seemingly arbitrarily again, so keep your foot on the gas. Maybe remind them that there was a settlement years ago they're forgetting to adhere to...

I may end up posting my art here for a bit until I find somewhere where I can really properly archive it and make it easy to access for everyone...unless Tumblr reverses their latest Extremely Stupid Update Decision. The whole point of sharing my art was so I could talk to other artists...
