I made the mistake of telling my then-8yo about the galaxy and the massive black hole at the center… and it became a source of existential dread for him. Trying to explain the size/scale/timelines and that he won’t live that long for it to be a problem wasn’t helpful.

I did Minneapolis to Ft Myers straight through about 28 hours total. It was with my brother and dad, and we’d rotate every 3 to 4 hours. It somehow ended up that I drove through every major metropolitan area. Knowledge of the highway numbering system helped us avoid downtown Atlanta though.
