A popular path along Mulkey Creek in Corvallis recently became flooded after beavers built a dam in the area. That prompted several groups to look for a solution that would allow the beavers to remain busy in the area but keep the path open for public use.
At least 270 gray wolves called Washington home in 2025, according to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. That’s up about 17% since 2024.

Last night, after an hours-long public hearing, Monterey Park became the first city in California to pass an ordinance permanently banning data centers.
