Yesterday some ‘Christians’ of this county were having a hissy because the President called Patrick a migrant & by his first name instead of Saint. Today those ‘Christians’ are delighted a new bill will make family reunification more difficult for migrants here. Patrick would be horrified by them.

I’m not sure the US is a useful moral yardstick though. There are serious shortcomings in how sexual crimes and crimes against women are handled across many jurisdictions — including the UK and Ireland. An arrest can look like progress, but conviction rates and systemic reform are the real test.
