A little erigenia bulbosa was all the Saturday excitement I needed. At a preserve in far west suburban Chicago.
It’s a threatened plant in Illinois, where I live. I’ve always been told it’s a very conservative species that dislikes disturbance, so I assume that private woods between a creek and a farm near my MIL’s probably has other nice surprises too!
