In hindsight, given how disappointing the legal profession became, I should perhaps have waited until I’d qualified, as it was the HR process that dragged, not the vetting!

I passed developed vetting twice. On the second occasion I ended up turning the job down for a solicitors training contract. It was made very clear that appointment was conditional on vetting being granted.
