winnie the pooh is standing next to a rock wall and scratching his head . ALT: winnie the pooh is standing next to a rock wall and scratching his head .

Wish I’d known 30 years ago that forgetting what I was saying mid-sentence and misjudging when to jump into a conversation wasn’t a personal flaw—it was ADHD and the limits of my working memory. The years I’ve sent at work feeling inept, and guilty - what a waste but hey ho better late than never 😀

Words that make me go hmmm: Demand While many words make me go hmmm, there are some that make me squirm the most, either due to what they reflect about the way we think about people (like ‘case’ and ‘non-compliant’) or about the way…

Instead of all the conversations about ‘demand’, it’s time to demand a different conversation.

In a world surrounded by tech and commissioners and funders that often see this as the answer to the shortage of care workers and a cheaper option, this image hits hard

It’s important that we remember tech should only be used to compliment good care and not replace the human element.

Really really hate the language of 'protecting the vulnerable' that seems to be all over the place at the moment. We are all vulnerable in different circumstances (and yes might need protecting). BUT person should never be defined as that and that alone #language

Sending a big hug Angela. My partner is currently ‘negotiating’ his dad’s care with a southern health and social care authority. Some fabulous people doing their best but poor communication and a lack of services has been really tough

There are two easy things you can do to make BlueSky more accessible

Capitalise each word in your hashtags so that screen readers can decipher them. If you dont, they are read out letter by letter

Add Alt Text to your images. There is an option in settings to remind you to do this before you post
