It is, dare I say it, a dialectical contradiction. It's almost as if the people/generation who had everything handed to them on a plate don't think plates and other utensils matter.
From on this list i'm looking forward to the K'Vort/Regla's BoP and I'm hoping - tho not really expecting - it to accompany a Hegh'ta remaster and being able to space barbie the various pieces.
However what's not on this roadmap is something they teased at the very end of the chat.
I think techbros should be liquidated, as a class,
#StarTrekOnline can we get some love for the Cardassians please? We still don't have Cardassian ground weapons. The Galor/Keldon and the Victory is Life Cardassian Intel ships need a remaster. We don't have an omni-directional spiral wave beam array. I want some stories set on Cardassia.
The ramifications of this disastrous war will be felt for years to come. Economic depression globally. Famines are going to happen at the very least in the global south. And all because of the fucking idiots in charge of the US and Israel. People will neither forget nor forgive.
US would still lose just much harder.
Israel is also finished. It'll try everything it can to sabotage this ceasefire but it's already teetering on the edge of collapse. More and more *western* countries are turning on both it and the US. Mashallah this is the day the west lost.
The US will be seen not just as 'agreement incapable' which it already is but as treacherous snakes who you can't even negotiate with. US diplomacy - which is a key plank of how its hegemony exists and is utilised - would effectively be dead.
The war would then continue and the
This ceasefire is a positive development.
If the US agrees to or abides by every demand, US hegemony in the West Asia region will be officially over. This will also weaken it abroad (East Asia esp.).
If otoh this is a ploy to rearm and attack later, the US will still fail.
Yeah well we need to get a crew together first, baby steps
Reminded of another point - China in the book sacrifices it's own immediate space ambitions by sequestering one of their rockets to provide supply relief to Watney because the one NASA hastily assembled blew up on blast off. If you don't think that's social commentary you might have shit for brains.
Totally normal Nazi country
It's been years since I read/watched it but I remember back on Earth a lot of the tension was on executive decision making 'writing off' Watney as lost rather than even attempt a rescue mission and some characters put their careers (even lives) on the line to force a rescue.
'No point' my arse
I read and watched the adaptation to The Martian and thought it was a great story about man overcoming extreme adversity through technical ingenuity but ultimately it's cooperation and self-sacrifice on behalf of others that gets him home. Extremely weird to think as a writer he has no point to make
Also wow Andy Weir is a huge dipshit if that's his take away on Trek and stories in general.
'We brought back the Enterprise-D! How do you like that slop you nostalgia piggies'
Fuck you, the Enterprise-D died in orbit of Veridian III after saving the day, have some damn respect you fucks
I hate how Picard S3 turned out. It's like Trek's version of TFA and TROS combined, albeit it's not *as bad* as TROS. Outwardly positive but deeply nihilistic, pandering to gen xers who bemoan how the new stuff isn't as good as the old stuff (while misunderstanding what made the old stuff so good).
Power reveals someone's true character.
I like the idea of a sequel to LotR. I think its execution would probably be near impossible, esp. given that Tolkien himself stopped working on it. Afaik Colbert has not written anything outside of comedy.
I vaguely recall Seth Green tried to bust a union by saying it would increase production costs so much the show would shut down. I can't remember the details however.
That and the crypto makes me side eye him. Still better than being a Joss Whedon incel self-assert and woman basher tho.
Garlic salt?
Yeah I neglected to mention that piece of shit. I retweeted a thread Zoe Quinn made about him.
Adam Baldwin was literally *the* guy who named GamerGate and made it go viral. It was just some loser 4chan/incel YouTuber shit before then. They spammed him to get his attention because they knew he’s also a psycho loser and they wanted to make it go viral, and he did it. And it worked.
I don't really care for any kind of Firefly/Serenity reboot project. I used to like it back in the day but everything that's come out about it, Joss Whedon especially just soured me on it, Serenity the movie itself was mid and the show itself did not age very well either.
If Netanyahu is dead get ready for some truly insane hagiography by the western media and political class.
Anakin Skywalker fell to the Dark Side as a result of his selfishness and fear of losing Padme.
This is actually, genuinely, insane. And another manifestation of American exceptionalism, this time in theology. Imagine 'tricking' or 'forcing' God to start Armageddon lol
Just watched an interview where an Iranian gov't official said that Khamenei refused to be moved to a safe location unless 90 million Iranians were moved first. He elected for martyrdom, and the Epstein bourgeoisie played right into his hands. Genuinely inspiring.
Seeing a large uptick in zero or low follower accounts made in the last five minutes reply guying to any post that talks about this conflict, either to do a 'nah uh' 'fact' check or to crow victory. Both here and on Twitter.
The ruling class must be panicking. Things are NOT going well.
Gotten some minor pushback from bot accounts that makes me think this is increasingly becoming the case. The west is fucked, and they're panicking.
