That cruiser design that debuted in V2 #307 is an all-time classic. One of my favorite ship designs ever. And they kept it into the Reboot too!
Mm, not really. But then, while I enjoyed Schitt’s Creek well enough at the time, it hasn’t really stuck in my mind to any great extent.
I actually reread it just last week!
More than I would like or care to admit.
Ah yes, the good ol’ Devil’s Reacharound
And anyone who uses the term “warfighter” with a straight face should be laughed out of public life and mocked by their peers and strangers on the street for the rest of their natural lives.
Definitely a finalist in the running for my favorite cover of all time.
Most of those retroboot costumes were awful, but I think Jeckie’s was the absolute worst. Just completely wrong for her personality as well as being hideously ugly.
Always loved Projectra, but the Sensor Girl storyline and identity really cemented her as one if my top 2 Legionnaires.
Made me fall in love with Phillip Bond’s art. Vimanarama was also a great collaboration between Bond and Morrison.
I still sing that to this day!
I think he’s got a bright future ahead of him.
Personally, I’ve never cared for Neal Adams. Something about his work just turns me off.
I dunno, is Bob Kane a highly regarded artist? When I think “pantheon”, I think Pérez, Adams, Aparo, Swan, Kirby, those kind of artists.
But yeah, Kane sucks.
I actually enjoy it more than LotR.
I'm not even sure that's her worst one
Poor Pol never got much respect. I always liked him as the kid trying to live up to his big brother’s rep and thought he had potential to be a great Legionnaire one day.
Best DC series ever.
I just reread this a week or two ago! Still just as dumb but thrilling as it was back in ‘84. The best part was the 4 or 5 awesome covers in the series.
I remember reading Earth X and finding the story incoherent and little more than an excuse to make bizarre changes to the characters just because someone said “wouldn’t it be cool if…?” with no rhyme or reason to back up those changes.
I never bothered with any of the sequels.
I love that Krypto’s “costume” is just a cape.
Probably my favorite Rachel costume.
That was a completely unnecessary revelation and one I believe to be harmful to the charcter.
Loved the hell out of this series! Cool sci-fi story, Chris Sprouse art. What’s not to love? Just sad it never got a sequel or even a collection.
And, honestly, that’s why I’ve never really particularly liked the 1989 movie.
Peacemaker’s interactions with the entire Reyes family in that series were so good.
I think this might be the only one of the 1989 redesigns I didn't like.
I like the cut of your jib, sir.
I think I can honestly say I have never had that conversation in nearly 50 years of reading comics.
However, the number of Marvel Super-Hero RPG games that were just us picking characters and slugging it out to the death probably approaches several dozen.
